In case anyone didn't know, Jerry Springer died mid 2023.

I used to watch the Jerry Springer Show as a young adult. Always thought of it as "trash television" but at times it was entertaining. I distinctly remember feeling uneasy at times watching it, without really being able to point to why outside of the content itself. I'm not sure I ever put it into the perspective of what effect (it and shows like it) might/would have on a nation. Springer's "moral message" at the end of episodes frequently sounded trite and insincere to me.

The narrator, who's voice comes in part way into this clip, puts the psychological impacts of the show itself on display, how they helped form American psyche for it's viewers, what effects they have on the viewers towards their nation, to those who embrace it to those who reject it.
