Will you be getting the Covid vaccine? If yes, are you concerned about side effects? If no, are you waiting to see how this first round of vaccines go before you might say Yes?

I plan to wait and see if it has unacceptable side effects and then decide whether to get it or not.

I'm leaning more toward this. I'm not in the high risk zone and they haven't even determined if you can get it again or if you build up a life long immunity.

My concerns relate to side effects (which are possible with any vaccine, even if rare) and how long it lasts. So far it seems some reports indicate that immunity lasts a year or more and others suggest it might just be a few months. If exposure to the actual virus only creates an immunity that lasts a few months it leaves me wondering whether a vaccine would last any longer than a few months and I'm really not interested in getting a vaccine multiple times a year. That seems to do little more than turn an overblown virus into a huge payday for pharmaceutical companies.

I have an issue with it becoming mandatory since the death rate is so low and the survival rate is over 99%.

I have a major issue with any medical treatment becoming mandatory. Even if the mortality rate were 50% or higher still I believe it is the right of the individual to decide whether to take a vaccine or not.

Yeah if they were so concerned for peoples well being they would promote vitamins, encourage sunlight and cutting down of sugar and fatty foods to strengthen the immune system.. but no lets prevent spitting on each other with masks and hurt the economy by limiting public interaction, lets excuse mob protest but condemn church goers or private family gatherings.. let's inject into our dna a counterfeit replica of the corona virus to trick our bodies into attacking it with the hopes for immunity.
Im sorry but a 0.09 mortality rate is dramatically less than dying from the common flu.
There is a quote from former president Obamas advisor that goes something like "back when there were less people it was easier to kill them than to control them, now its easier to control than to kill"

While we're at it let's get people to bleat endlessly about how they "follow the science" while simplifying everything to the point science left long ago.

It's frankly comical to see people who insist they "follow the science" but think that staying 6'1 from someone for half an hour is safer than briefly passing 5'11 away from them, and people who think an appeal to authority counts as "following science" even when they can't answer basic questions about the science they allegedly follow.

Not everybody does that but from the quality of some conversations I've seen and heard there are a fair few of them out there.

I plan on waiting for it to be proven outside of studies. Too many unknowns such as side affects and how long it lasts. So many vaccines have come out being the one only to need boosters laster on. I will not take a vaccine that is rushed to market.
