Do you ever use any condiments? I’ll use mustard and mayo.

Cheddar cheese, a little mayo, just a bit of red onion, a big slice of ripe tomato, maybe some lettuce. Avocado is okay (smashed and spread on bun) in place of the mayo. NO pickle or mustard. Toasted bun that's not too big.

I make two different style of burgers, my regular burger with cheese is served with lettuce, tomato, and red onion on a toasted brioche bun. With ketchup, mustard (dijon is good), and mayo. The other is a loose meat steak burger also with cheese and just served with sauteed sweet onions with Thousand Island dressing (Russian dressing can be substituted) on a toasted potato bun.

Either lettuce, tomato and mayo OR fried onions and pickles.

I usually go for mayo, some lettuce, a tomato (sometimes) and maybe some jalapeno peppers from time to time if I have them.

What's the weirdest thing you've ever put on a burger that actually tasted great?

I don't think it's that weird, but I've only done it once, on a regular cheese burger I've topped it with bacon and a medium fried egg with pico de gallo. it was very good, just too messy to eat.

Too much can be bad. However, some of it - as well as some secret sauce, say the one on Dairy Queen burgers - hits the spot! Anyway, as far as cheese is concerned - I don't like it much on grilled burgers. Therefore, often at Burger King etc.. I might not order a burger with cheese. However, I think Dairy Queen's burgers have cheese on them, yet grilled, but they're still good.

Anything like ketchup and mayonnaise goes nowhere near my burger. I'm not averse to the odd monster burger, with cheese, bacon, pickle slices, mushrooms and, if I'm really pushing the boat out, a fried egg and/or slice of pineapple. One place near me does a burger with a battered onion ring in it, which is really good. I once visited a seaside town where one of the pubs offered an "Elvis burger" that included sliced banana and peanut butter. The thing was like a cardiac arrest nicely packaged on a plate but tasted amazing.

Even as someone who loves mayonnaise, I strongly feel that the only condiments that have any place on a burger are ketchup and mustard. Mayonnaise is better for sandwiches that have chicken, ham, turkey, et cetera.
