I like stained glass windows and beautiful paintings. Statues can be exquisite works of art too and so can photographs. Throughout history Christians have used art works to depict significant events and themes from the holy scriptures and from the lives of people who left enduring legacies of wisdom and theology within the church. Do you like art; does it play a role in your theology?

Yes I used to make banners for churches and the church of my mom still has 2 hanging there that I made with Lion of Judah and one other one from those 2 fig trees with the oil. Zerubbabel. I made a lot and flags. I had one pic of me very tiny at the Niagara falls and all those people watching them, so that's like everyone watching the Holy Spirit and I made a big print and ironed it on a flag with that white fluffy stuff. Used to flag a lot. Now its all rotting away in my ex's basement lol.

It's good to leave something of your work in your church's meeting place. It's like a little bit of you remains there.

It's funny you brought this up. Yesterday on a friend's wall on Facebook a guy complained asking how stained glass in a church wasn't as equally distracting as smoke and lights. I informed him that usually the stained glass windows had biblical representations that told us more about the Savior. Smoke and lights don't do that. LOL

I'm very much into art and will be studying more about Christian Art History on my own. I was impressed by art history after taking art appreciation in high school. We had over 100 slides that we had to memorize for period, title, artist, style. I either got them all correct or missed one or two. Knowing what style of art belongs in which period actually helped me identify some fraudulent piece of art floating around Facebook stating that it was the oldest painting of Jesus and the disciples. It wasn't. They style belonged to the Russians from wayyyyy later on.

No.

It plays a role in our expression of faith but not in the formation or substantiation of our theology.

I like art. I like Christian themed art. It does not play a role in my theology though.
