CH Discord Channel

Hey everyone!

Discord is an app that allows you to both voice and text chat with other people in a community like setting. Discord was meant for gamers, but now many people are now using Discord for other things, and it's great to use. I have set up a channel for CH after checking with the Admins, and this will be a trial to see how it goes.

You will need to create an account there in order to message in there.

Yes it's something different, but it is on a trial basis so we're going to see how it goes.

What happened when you clicked my invite link?

If you are confused about what to do, you can PM me I'll try to walk you through it. I don't know all the ins and outs of Discord but I will do my best.

Basically, you click on the link in George's first post.
Then if you don't have an account on Discord you have to create one. Write down your info so you have it to log in later!
You'll need to check your email to confirm and all that and log back in.
Then you're ready.

The 2nd to far left column you'll see Text Channels and Voice Channels. You will need to have others online at the same time to do the Voice but you can always read the text channel and type a message. You can also send text privately to others (you can see the members on the far right side).

As discovered when trying to talk with MoreCoffee, my mic wasn't working. I have now downloaded the app for PC instead of relying on the browser version so I was able to select my USB mic and hopefully that has fixed my problem.

I selected my USB headphones & mic and they work fine with the web app

What happened when you clicked my invite link?

We need more people in there.

I use a phone. When I click it I get a code and can install an app. Then all I get is Wumpus lol. I can't invite friends.

Is CH listed in the upper right hand corner (that's where it is on the PC app)? Look for CH to enter the channel. I see Wumpus before I go into the CH Channel.

It was greyed out for me.

I think if you click with the "other mouse button" - if you use a PC - then you'll get a menu allowing you to activate it. you other-mouse-button-click the little speaker symbol on the task-bar and then select recording devices and a little box will open in your screen listing the things you have including your microphone. If it is disabled then enable it. then when you turn it on the pc should detect it and start using it.

rebuke whatever it is that is not working saying "be thou obedient and work as expected lest the Lord rebuke thee" ... I might work

Hahaha. I think the app will work with the mic now that I installed it yesterday. I just haven't had a chance to try it out yet.
