I realize this is late but the more I think about it the less I want to participate in any way with Halloween this year. Seems like an entirely pagan holiday that I should not have a part in. I don't know why I feel this way this year and haven't in years past. Here is a article about Halloween. Do you think Christians should participate in Halloween?

https://www.compellingtruth.org/origins-Halloween.html

"There is nothing biblical about Halloween. There is no purgatory; the Bible does not give any instruction for the exorcism of homes; and every feast day that God ordained was to remember His work, not loved ones who had died. At the same time, many of the traditions of Halloween have lost their original meaning to the point that they are biblically neutral. Dressing in costume, begging for candy, and bobbing for apples are far enough removed from their pagan inspirations as to be allowable for Christians"

I don't see anything Pagan about how Halloween is celebrated in modern times. Costumes and candy and having fun is not against the bible. I had a lot of fun tonight seeing my neighbors and giving out bags of candy.

It's only all hallows day eve so no big deal really. I am glad there's no "trick or treat" here in Australia, but I can see businesses doing all they can to promote it. It must be good for the sales of sweets.

The Holidays are really tough for me as a diabetic and I do have a bit of a sweet tooth and have trouble sometimes saying no. I'm type 2, but my doctor calls my a hybrid because my body acts much like a type 1 would. If I go off my diet even for a little while my blood sugar can easily go up to the 300s.

My husband ate most of the candy over the weekend so I ended up giving out the little individual bags of chips! That was more expensive! Maybe next year he won't be so greedy with the candy.

The kids in this area tend to go to Hallowe'en parties rather than explore the neighborhoods so much, anymore. Safety remains a primary concern around here.

Yeah, for most it is just a chance to have their kids dress up, walk the community and have fun. I too had fun seeing the kids. I setup my strobe light, played some Supertones for the block and gave out candy. We had 100 or more kids come up the walk. Lots of smiles.

I live in a large neighborhood and lots of kids came by for candy. Most of them were dressed up like Batman or something similar. There was nothing satanic about the night. We even dressed my Yorkipoo up in a costume.

Most of the kids wanted to pet the dog. It was fun.

The origin isn't catholic. It's occult.

I don't know what "origin" the day can have except that it was created by God and like all other days is a gift to us and to all earthly creatures. The celebration as it is in the USA may have roots in superstitions, I do not know, but the night of the thirty first of October every year is the eve of All Saints day (also called all Hallows day) and my guess is that the name "Halloween" is a contraction of "Hallow and evening". I suspect that it was never intended by Christians to celebrate anything but the blessed saints in heaven.

You little poodle is very cute. I can easily imagine that children would like to pet him/her. :)

Weird way to celebrate the blessed saints in heaven, with those monster costumes. I think they put it on the same day, just like Christmas. But w christmas it's at least still christian. Some dont celebrate that either and say its Wodan worship if you put a tree in your house. That goes a bit too far for me.
Kids here go door to door for candy w Saint Maarten.

The costumes are a USA thing that businesses are trying to sell in other countries to make money. So far in Australia Halloween is not celebrated with trick or treat and consumes but businesses advertise for it in sales and the like so I will not be surprised if it is eventually adopted by younger people. I have no idea why USA people do all the costume things and why they do ghosts goblins and other superstitious things.

I didn't see any ghosts or goblins last night. Most kids dress as movie or cartoon characters.

You should.
Hey the charisma magazin says it too.

I'd give it slightly higher marks than the other one, but really, if you want to prove your point, you'll need to also use materials and sources that are not "fringe"-type.
