I was given a warning on another forum for "hate and intolerance" because I brought up the cause and effect suggestion about how the thousands of illegals coming in through Texas are bringing covid into our country. They are being bused into other states...the states that had high numbers most recently of covid cases. That's cause and effect. Not hate. Not intolerance. I said nothing about hating any groups of people.

Stop pretending that crush of immigrants at Texas border isn’t driving COVID cases

The city reports that since mid-February, the Border Patrol has released more than 7,000 immigrants confirmed as having COVID into McAllen.

More than 1,500 of those have come in the past week or so.

The city works with outside organizations to test and quarantine migrants before they travel, but the huge numbers are overwhelming them.

While it’s hard to know how much the migrant surge is driving Delta cases in Texas, it’s folly to think they are wholly unrelated.

One thing that I've also read is the dispute of the term "illegal" since once they get past a certain point in the process they are deemed "legal migrants"...even though they crossed the border illegally. This is nothing more than ignoring the cause and effect pattern that has been created with people coming into the country with an illlness, not thoroughly being tested, detained, etc...and then released into other areas of the country and the effect is more spread of the virus.

It's all part of the growing silliness.

Everything gets shut down over a virus with a survival rate well over 99% for most of us, yet they bring in ever-more people who are untested. Then they introduce new rules so you need papers to go out for dinner but not to vote and not to cross the border. It's a strange world.

Might as well get used to hearing "papieren, bitte".
