It's a real shame.

His first act in command was to remove his military from acting on probably the most deserving target for direct military action in the past 15 years.

Hahahaaaheheee. This thread is hilarious!

I AM Canadian, and I'm even in the "balmy" region. And yes, it's quite lovely here, as our grass is still green and some of our flowers are still blooming. And the really funny thing is that the US is a mere few minutes across the border from here, and the perception is that it should be cold. LOL. Excuse me while I add another block to my melting igloo. lol

Canada was ready for a change. Harper was more interested in public opinion than he was in making informed decisions for Canada's best interest, and I think Canadians wised up to it. Finally. Not that I think Trudeau is going to be good, but then I don't think any of them would have been particularly good. Still, I'm more liberal than conservative, so what the hey. I remember Justin Trudeau's father... HE bought a brand new boutonniere every single day of his PMhood and WE the public paid for them! He led us into mountains of debt for his irresponsible spending. My only hope is that Justin is not going to go on the same kind of spending sprees at our expense.

As for some of his proposed methods like pulling the military, I think we should not really judge until we find out his rationale for it. Being a passive, non-resistant Mennonite, I'm fine with his lack of military action and probably can guess that his reason is he does not want them to retaliate so we have our own version of 9/11. Instead, his stance on immigration policy has me very concerned because he will not revoke citizenship of terrorists and will allow the citizenship oath to be sworn hiding behind a burka. This is really sad... we have to show our ID in order to vote, but those wearing a burka were not asked to remove it to reveal that it was actually the registered voter at the poll. That's something I think is really bad policy and believe that what's policy for those born in Canada should be policy for those born outside of Canada when it comes to issues regarding safety - like their ability to hide behind a burka.

Yes, MoreCoffee....we are a hardy bunch!
