Have you ever broken the screen of your phone?

If so, how did it happen?

I haven't done it but my daughter breaks hers probably once a year! She usually just deals with it and it's always because she puts it in her pocket and it drops to the ground. She eventually has to take it in for a screen replacement because she keeps dropping her phone. My wood floor in the bathroom has a few dings from her dropping her phone in there.

Never broken the screen but have had the screen come away from the main body of the phone when my wife dropped the phone. The first time it mostly survived, the second time it split away and let dust in. Sadly it also let water in (the phone was waterproof until it was dropped), so getting hit by a big wave on the beach meant my phone was no more. It kinda sorta worked, but some parts of the screen worked intermittently and other parts didn't work at all.

No, I haven't broken the screen on any of my iPhones. All of my handheld devices are fitted with glass screen protectors that have previously taken the impact instead. It's cheaper to invest in phone accessories that can help with costs in replacements or repairs, like phone cases and insurance, for example.
