It's been new year here for 12 hours and ten minutes.

426 - many 'ex-catholics' also were under discipline and decided that leaving was just easier than dealing with whatever issue was on the table. Mind you, I imagine that most ex-catholics may not fit that description but I've met quite a few who did.

426 - Yes, that is often the way of it. Many leave and join a local Baptist church and then a few years later leave it because "they don't preach the full gospel" or something like that. They end up doing the rounds for a few years and finally settle down either in one small church where they play only a marginal role or in no church of any kind because they can't find any that are "right".
