The bottom one is a full encyclopedia that I prefer first over the online Wikipedia...
I have a huge hoard of Catholic books I inherited through my Grandma but I rarely read them because for the most part they are about hell and purgatory and my gosh does she have much of them... MC if you lived in the states I would mail you the 10 hardcore Catholic books :) I'm too scared to read them

I have to confess that I got VERY spoiled in my reading - I never was a Protestant, so the books Protestants read never formed any kind of a basis in my library, and reading Orthodox Books is such a deep undertaking that when every once in a great while I do pick up a non-Orthodox Christian book, I generally cannot bear to go into it much more than a page or so... It is just too painful to read for me...

One of my favorites is: Lossky: "The Mystical Theology of the Eastern Church"
Another is "Father Arsenii" - A Gulag priest's biography...
"The Way of a Pilgrim" is a classic, even outside of Orthodoxy...
"A Night on the Holy Mountain" is one of the best ever...
Not to mention "The Philokalia" vol 1-4

I rarely buy books unless I have a gift card. I usually have 2 or 3 books from the library though at any one time
