I was just wondering what everyone's thoughts are on the current bombing of Iran and the justification for it? I thought Trump said after last years bombing of Iran that the nuclear program of Iran was set back years, but here we are less than a year later and he bombing them again. What was in your opinion the actual reason for the bombing. It seems clear they are going directly after Iranian leadership and have killed a number of them so far.

Iran most likely had help from other countries in obtaining what they needed to replenish what had been lost. They bragged about their supplies, which was enough to potentially build 11 nuclear weapons.

I'm not one who likes violence, but I do understand the need to show power, even though I cringe at the thought of it. Plus, we also have to understand that the Biden administration did nothing to make our enemies afraid of us, in fact, they just mocked us instead. And the next problem is that Democrats will likely take back both the house and senate and impeach Trump after the mid-terms. I think Trump is trying to set things into place now to help better our country, knowing that Democrats will just make a mess of things as much as they can, which is what happened during Biden's entire term.

I'm really hoping the people of Iran can turn the clock back to the 1970s where they had more freedoms!!

I was there in Iran in the mid 1970's while in the USAF. The Shah (royalty) was our ally. I was a crew chief on C-141s. The area where we landed, an Iranian airmen greeted us at the back cargo door, and asked if we had any sunglasses and Levi jeans to sell. I'll never forget that, he was friendly. They immediately took us into a room where they had this long banquet table setup with fresh fruits and unleavened bread, and bottles of cold Coca-Cola with Arabic markings on one side of it. The bread was real good, and they said it would last several days, to just put droplets of water on it and set it in the sun for while, and it will taste like it just came out of the oven.

The hotel they put us up in was just out of town, stood off the dirt road about 100 yards. About 50 yards outside was a swimming pool where the Iranian pilots and stewardesses swam. Right next to the road was an open drainage ditch of raw sewage. For dinner I ordered roast, which it said roast beef on the menu, but I think it was actually goat, kind of stringy. It seemed like something they weren't used to preparing, but did it for G.I.'s who came there for temporary duty. The fresh fruit though, was the best I'd ever had.

A couple of the guys I went TDY with went to town to the market for souvenirs, I didn't go. The living conditions even back then under the Shah were terrible for the majority of the Iranians, but still better than the present regime. The Ayatollah kept the people in worse conditions.

So when the Ayatollah and his regime was killed, many of the Iranian people, particularly the young, went to the streets in joy.

In the 1980-88 Iran-Iraq war, there was over a million soldiers killed between the two nations, and not one yard of territory changed hands. Sadam of Iraq was one that needed to go and he's gone. The same was needed for Iran also, and now the Ayatollah is gone. Who will lead them though?

It happened that way during Trump's first term as well.

IRAN TERRORISM MINDSET & ACTIONS
Here’s a report on Iranian and Iran‑backed terrorist atrocities from roughly 2013–2026.

1. Big Picture: What IranHhas Been Doing
Core pattern:
Iran’s regime (IRGC/Quds Force) uses proxies and deniable arms—Hezbollah, Iraqi Shia militias, Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, Houthis, and others—to:

• Kill Americans and allies
• Bleed Israel on multiple fronts
• Drive the U.S. out of the region
• Disrupt global trade and energy
• Encircle Israel with missile and drone rings
The last decade is basically the maturation of that network into a full regional war machine.

2. Iraq & Syria: Militias, IEDs, and Rocket/Drone Attacks
Even after the peak Iraq War years, Iran‑backed militias kept attacking U.S. and coalition forces:

• 2013–2019:
• Kataib Hezbollah, Asaib Ahl al‑Haq, and other IRGC‑backed groups conduct rocket and IED attacks on U.S. bases and diplomats in Iraq.
• These groups are funded, trained, and armed by Iran’s Quds Force.
• 2020 – Killing of Qassem Soleimani & escalation:
• After the U.S. kills Quds Force commander Qassem Soleimani in January 2020, Iran and its proxies intensify rocket and drone attacks on U.S. positions in Iraq and Syria.
• 2020–2024:
• Dozens of rocket and drone attacks on U.S. bases in Iraq and Syria by Iran‑backed militias.
• These attacks injure and kill U.S. personnel and contractors and are explicitly framed as efforts to drive the U.S. out of the region.
This is the Iraq/Syria front of Iran’s terror war.

3. Hamas, PIJ, and Gaza: Suicide Bombings to October 7th
Iran has long funded and armed Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ):

• Pre‑2010s foundation (for context):
• 1995–1996: Iran‑backed Hamas and PIJ carry out suicide bombings in Israel that kill and wound Americans and Israelis.
• 2010s–early 2020s:
• Iran increases funding, training, and weapons transfers to Hamas and PIJ, including rockets and precision‑guided systems.
• October 7, 2023 – Hamas massacre:
• Hamas launches a massive cross‑border attack into Israel—mass killings, kidnappings, and rocket barrages.
• Iran is not publicly proven to have ordered the attack, but it is widely recognized as Hamas’s primary strategic backer, providing money, weapons, and training over many years.
This is the Gaza/Israel front of Iran’s proxy war.

4. Hezbollah & Lebanon: Rockets, Tunnels, and Constant Threat
Hezbollah is Iran’s flagship proxy:

• 2010s–2020s:
• Hezbollah builds a massive rocket and missile arsenal aimed at Israel—over 100,000 projectiles by many estimates.
• It constructs attack tunnels into northern Israel (later exposed and destroyed).
• It fights in Syria on behalf of the Assad regime, expanding Iran’s regional footprint.
• Post–October 7, 2023:
• Hezbollah opens a northern front against Israel—rockets, anti‑tank missiles, and cross‑border fire—tying Israel down on two fronts.
Hezbollah is the Lebanon front of Iran’s terror architecture.

5. Houthis & the Red Sea: Global Shipping Under Fire
The Houthis in Yemen are another key Iran proxy:

• 2015–2020:
• Houthis fire Iran‑supplied missiles and drones at Saudi Arabia and UAE, targeting airports, oil facilities, and cities.
• Post–October 7, 2023:
• Houthis begin attacking Israel‑linked and then general commercial shipping in the Red Sea, Bab‑el‑Mandeb, and Gulf of Aden, explicitly “in support of Gaza.”
• They launch missiles and drones at Israel and at U.S./allied naval vessels.
• This triggers a multinational naval response and repeated U.S./U.K. strikes on Houthi targets in Yemen.
This is the Red Sea/global trade front of Iran’s campaign.

6. Direct Attacks and Plots Against Americans
Beyond proxies, Iran and its agents have directly targeted Americans:

• Historic baseline (for context):
• 1979–1990s: Embassy seizure, Beirut bombings, hijackings, kidnappings, and murders of Americans by Iran‑backed groups.
• Iraq War legacy:
• Over 600 U.S. troops killed by Iran‑supplied explosively formed penetrators (EFPs) and militia attacks in Iraq (2003–2011).
• Recent decade:
• Multiple plots on U.S. soil and in Europe to assassinate dissidents, former officials, and critics of the regime.
• Drone and rocket attacks on U.S. bases in Iraq, Syria, and Jordan by Iran‑backed militias, including the Tower 22 attack in 2024 that killed three U.S. soldiers.
This is the direct U.S. target front of Iran’s terror war.

7. The Last Few Years: Open Regional Confrontation
By the mid‑2020s, the pattern hardens into open confrontation:

• Iran’s proxies active on all fronts:
• Hamas in Gaza
• Hezbollah in Lebanon and Syria
• Shia militias in Iraq and Syria
• Houthis in Yemen and the Red Sea
• Iran launches direct missile strikes at U.S. bases and at Israel in response to U.S.–Israeli strikes on its nuclear and missile infrastructure.
• The U.S. and Israel respond with large‑scale operations against Iranian nuclear sites, missile infrastructure, and naval assets, framing it as a response to decades of Iranian terrorism against Americans and allies.

🇺🇸 Total Americans Killed by Iran & Proxies
900+ Americans killed in attacks directly linked to Iran or its proxy militias.
This includes:

• 241 U.S. Marines killed in the 1983 Beirut barracks bombing
• 17 Americans killed in the 1983 U.S. Embassy bombing in Beirut
• 603 U.S. troops killed by Iran‑supplied IEDs in Iraq
• Multiple Americans killed in hijackings, kidnappings, and suicide bombings
• Recent attacks, including the 2024 Tower 22 drone strike

Overview of the Operation
In late February and early March 2026, the United States and Israel launched a massive coordinated strike on Iran. The U.S. called it Operation Epic Fury, and Israel called its part Operation Lion’s Roar. The attack targeted Iran’s nuclear program, military infrastructure, and regime leadership.
Nearly 2,000 targets were struck across Iran in the opening phase.

Key Targets and Damage
1. Supreme Leader’s Compound

• Satellite imagery confirmed Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s compound in northern Tehran was destroyed.
• Khamenei was killed in the strike, according to both U.S. and Iranian state media.
This is the most significant leadership decapitation strike in Iran’s history.
2. Ballistic Missile Program
• U.S. Central Command reported heavy strikes on Iran’s ballistic missile infrastructure, calling it a priority threat.
• Over 1,250 targets were hit in the first 48 hours.
3. Nuclear Facilities
• Strikes hit Natanz, Fordow, and Isfahan, the core of Iran’s nuclear program.
• U.S. officials said the attacks degraded Iran’s nuclear capability, though not fully destroyed it.
4. Military and Government Sites
• Israel reported hitting 600 additional regime infrastructures.
• Over 130 cities across Iran were impacted.

Why the Attack Happened
Breakdown of Negotiations

• The U.S. and Iran were in nuclear talks mediated by Oman.
• Talks collapsed, and intelligence indicated Iran was preparing major strikes.
• U.S. officials said they launched preemptively to avoid “higher casualties.”
Israeli Trigger
• Israel had already conducted major strikes in June 2025, and tensions escalated steadily.
• By February 2026, Israel signaled it was ready to act again.
• The U.S. joined to prevent a wider uncontrolled war.

Iran’s Response
Iran retaliated with:

• Missile and drone attacks across Israel
• Strikes on U.S. bases in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE, and Iraq
• Regional escalation and airspace closures across the Middle East
Civilian casualties and oil market shocks followed.

Casualties and Impact
• Over 700 Iranians were killed in the early phase.
• Regional casualties were higher once Iran retaliated.
• Israel reported dozens killed in the June 2025 precursor conflict.

TOTAL WEAPONRY AND ARMAMENT UTILIZED
Here’s what can be said based on the verified, publicly available reporting about the 2026 U.S.–Israel war with Iran. The sources that exist right now give broad operational details, but not a full, declassified breakdown of sorties, ordnance tonnage, or exact aircraft counts. Still, we do have enough to build a structured picture of the scale and assets involved. the maximum detail available, with citations, and what is not yet released.

1. Airpower: What We Know
Massive U.S. and Israeli Air Deployment
The U.S. surged a large air package into the region before the attack, including:
• F‑15
• F‑16
• F‑22
• F‑35
• ISR aircraft
• Refueling tankers
• Additional air defenses
This is confirmed by FDD’s Long War Journal.
Sorties
No official sortie count has been released.
However, the scale of the operation—nearly 2,000 targets struck in the opening phase—implies hundreds of sorties per day across multiple days.
Israel alone struck 600+ targets in the first wave.
The U.S. struck 1,250+ missile-related targets.
This scale is comparable to:

• Operation Desert Storm (2,000+ sorties/day)
• Operation Iraqi Freedom (1,700+ sorties/day)
So while not confirmed, the operational tempo is in that range.

2. Ordnance Used
Types of ordnance (confirmed)
Based on the targets hit (deep bunkers, missile silos, nuclear sites), the U.S. and Israel almost certainly used:

• JDAM precision bombs
• Bunker‑buster munitions (GBU‑28, GBU‑57 class)
• Cruise missiles (Tomahawk, JASSM‑ER)
• Air‑launched standoff weapons
The U.S. Navy confirmed ordnance transfers aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln during the operation.
Tonnage
No official tonnage released.
Given the number of hardened targets, analysts estimate thousands of precision munitions expended in the first 72 hours.

3. Missile Launches
U.S. and Israeli missile strikes
The U.S. and Israel struck:
• Ballistic missile launchers
• Missile storage sites
• Command-and-control nodes
The U.S. objective was explicitly to destroy Iran’s ballistic missile arsenal.
Iranian missile launches
Iran launched:
• Ballistic missiles
• Cruise missiles
• Drones
Targets included:
• Israel
• U.S. bases in Bahrain, Qatar, UAE, Iraq
• Gulf shipping lanes
ISW confirms Iran continued missile and drone attacks throughout the early days.

4. Naval Forces and Battle Groups
U.S. Naval Forces
The U.S. deployed:
• Two carrier strike groups
• Multiple destroyers
• Additional naval assets in the Arabian Sea and Persian Gulf
This is confirmed by FDD’s Long War Journal.
Ships Lost (Iranian side)
Iran lost:
• 18 warships
• 1 submarine
This is confirmed in the casualty/loss section of the 2026 Iran War summary.

5. Drones
Iranian drone activity
Iran used:
• Shahed‑type drones
• Long‑range attack drones
• Reconnaissance drones
ISW confirms Iran continued drone attacks on U.S. and Gulf targets.
U.S. and Israeli drone usage
Not fully disclosed, but likely included:
• MQ‑9 Reaper
• Heron
• Harop loitering munitions
• Classified ISR drones
No official numbers released.

6. Stateside Squadrons
The Pentagon surged:
• CONUS‑based fighter squadrons (F‑15, F‑16, F‑22, F‑35)
• Bomber task forces (likely B‑1 or B‑2 rotations, though not confirmed)
The reporting confirms a “massive buildup” of U.S. airpower but does not list specific squadrons.

7. What Is Not Publicly Released Yet
No official data exists (as of March 2026) for:
• Exact sortie counts
• Exact ordnance tonnage
• Exact missile launch numbers
• Exact drone sortie numbers
• Specific stateside squadron IDs
• Full order of battle
These details are typically classified until:
• The conflict ends
• A DoD after‑action report is published
• Congress receives a public briefing

• 241 U.S. Marines killed in the 1983 Beirut barracks bombing

🇮🇷IRAN — The Most Documented Gospel Surge of Any Closed Nation

🔥 Summary

Iran is currently one of the fastest‑growing Christian movements on earth, almost entirely underground, fueled by dreams, visions, satellite broadcasting, and secret house churches.

📌 What’s Verified

  • Over 1 million Muslim-background Iranians have come to Christ in ~45 years.
  • Christianity is heavily restricted; converts face:
    • Interrogations
    • Arrests
    • Surveillance
    • Prison sentences for “propaganda against the state”
  • The church is entirely underground, meeting in homes, encrypted groups, or one‑on‑one.
  • Bible distributionis illegal but ongoing through:
    • Digital Bibles
    • Secret networks
    • Radio and satellite channels
  • Heart4Iran / Mohabat TVbroadcasts 24/7 Christian content into Iran:
    • Teaching
    • Testimonies
    • Counseling
    • Bible studies

🧭 Why the Gospel Spreads So Fast

  • Widespread disillusionment with the Islamic regime
  • High frequency of dreams and visions of Jesus (reported by multiple ministries)
  • Young population hungry for hope
  • Digital access bypassing state control

🇮🇷 IRAN — Gospel Amid Regime Turmoil and Intensifying Persecution

The gospel in Iran is advancing in the shadow of major national upheaval, including the Feb. 28 death of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and subsequent U.S. and Israeli strikes that have shaken the region. Iranian Christians—especially converts—are experiencing deep anxiety, not only because of geopolitical instability but because the regime often uses crises to justify harsher crackdowns. Exiled believers report that Iran’s younger generation is increasingly rejecting the 47‑year Islamist system, creating a spiritual openness that the underground church quietly engages.

Recent reports show a surge in secret conversions, driven by disillusionment with the regime and the spiritual hunger of a population exhausted by repression. However, persecution has sharply escalated: 254 Christians were arrested in 2025, double the previous year, with ordinary Christian practices—prayer, Communion, baptisms, Christmas gatherings—used as evidence of “crimes.” Many churches have been closed, and believers face exclusion from education, employment, and healthcare.

Despite this, the gospel continues to spread through house churches, digital discipleship, and testimonies of dreams and visions. One recent story describes a young woman who had a childhood dream of Jesus giving her an apple; years later, she was baptized after sustained discipleship, even amid the current conflict. Such accounts illustrate how the Holy Spirit works quietly while nations rage.

Iranian Christians abroad speak cautiously due to threats against family members still inside the country. Yet they emphasize that the underground church remains a “significant movement,” though forced to stay small, hidden, and tightly knit. The combination of political upheaval, generational disillusionment, and intensified persecution has created a paradoxical environment: the gospel is spreading faster than ever, even as the cost of discipleship rises sharply.

It was from November 4 1979 to January 20, 1981 soon after Reagan became President. They held 52 American diplomats captive for 444 days. I remember people tying yellow ribbons around trees and stuff back here at home

President Trump is a pseudo-pacifist. Pope Leo is a real pacifist.

I noticed that last night he threatened to hit Iran's power plants. I guess he doesn't understand or care that that is a international war crime to hit civilian power grid.

Well, we certainly did it when we went up against Iraq.

Keep in mind that it is the 'civilian' power grid that supplies the military needs for power.

As to the war crime, it is not a war crime to attack a power grid when it is done for military purposes, only when it is done strictly to go against a civilian population itself.

But is that a good thing?

on the current bombing of Iran and the justification for it
There is no justification.
This is not just a "military operation" this is a war and therefore illegal under international law.
Congress didn't approve it. Have you read your constitution ?

The following clip should also concern all of us deeply...
"Vets BLOWS WHISTLE on Trump..."

This world is turning into hell on earth
May the Lord still have mercy as he showed mercy on Sodom and Gomorrah in the beginning

Edit:
I removed the link to the clip because of some of the language the vet uses.
But I leave the title so you can still search it if you want

Now you are misquoting the Scriptures to justify what is happening

34Do not assume that I have come to bring peace to the earth; I have not come to bring peace, but a sword. 35For I have come to turn ‘a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.…(Matthew 10:34,35)

So heart breaking, but judgement will begin with the house of God (1 Peter 4:17)
How am I doing this?

And what does that have to do with the Pope and pacifism and whether it is good or not?

Can you further explain what you are meaning?

First I thought you mean the war, but now I can see it is about pacifism.
Then i think the verse is ok.

I'm really hoping the people of Iran can turn the clock back to the 1970s where they had more freedoms!!
They're certainly not gaining freedom with the US targeting school children. This war was uncalled for.
