What are your thoughts on the Big Beautiful Bill?

I wish that our leaders would go back to just passing small bills because then there wouldn't be this huge hold up! Force them to actually work instead of sitting around complaining for weeks before a vote happens. We've wasted so much time on this huge bill and what if it doesn't pass? What if it does? I'm just tired of all the stuff added into these things to appease one guy or another.

It's so big and comprehensive we will probably not know everything in it and how it will affect our country and its people till long after it is passed and instituted.

The big question for me, and one no one but me seems to care about, is how will it be abused and who will the winners and losers be when it is.

I really hate how big it is!! I looked at it online when the House first passed it, and it was just too much to grasp.

It's a 940 page legal document. People don't read 940 pages of their favorite book genre in a week, let alone the most boring document I've ever seen

I think it's too big and I don't understand what the purpose is in passing something that large. I'd rather it be broken down into reasonable steps that we can all understand. I see some things in the synopsis that I agree with, but I dislike politics and don't understand how things can be affected, so I tend to just pray and hope for the best as God does know.

I do think work or school requirements for able-bodied people to receive state aid are good things to implement. I know many people frauding the system by working around the loopholes and they get a free ride through life, being handed food, housing, cash and healthcare while contributing nothing as able-bodied people. That is the kind of thing that needs to stop. I also hope it would extend the tax cuts that helped the middle-class tax-payers. However, I've seen a lot of things that point to it costing the poorer citizens more, and I don't like that. I don't like that it would cost the U.S. 3.3 Trillion over the next 10 years. But we'll see how it pans out. God knows.

I'm with you in that I think it's too big. I don't understand why they can't just go back to passing smaller bills one at a time. I mean, they're supposed to be working for us anyway not arguing all the time.

The extra stuff added into this bill is very important and has to do with 2nd Amendment issues. Us gun lovers want it all that we can, full auto, silent holds 1/4 million rounds and shoots dime sized groups at 1000 yards! Lol.

Besides, what's government worried about anyway? They have remote control drones and smart bombs and all that, and they're still worried about a Rifle behind every blade of grass?! That's hilarious.

It's just strategy to add things into other bills. Demoncrats do it all the time, so Trump can play too, lol. Give em some stuff that will make them happy, and then oh yeah, De-regulate suppressors and SBR's too. Trump is smart!

I'm not against gun ownership. I do like that the dome is going to be built because I think that some nations are a threat against us and we need to be prepared...we also need to be more advanced than them!

I just think it would be easier to simplify things and then the voters will see that if a bill came out singularly like No taxes on Tips...that if all Dems vote against it that people would see that straight away.

Well of course it would be better to (do it right) have stand alone bills as you say. But that is not how deception works clear and upfront. No it's surreptitious and smoke and mirrors and all that sort of thing. Deception is the primary tool of the enemy and it is so rooted into our culture and (government) that even the good guys have to deal with it in certain manners.

There just isnt enough time in one presidents term to fix everything. Trump may indeed drain the swamp and people may even be jailed etc., but will draining the swamp kill the tree of deception that grows in the swamp? It cant because of such deep roots. It can hurt it but it wont eradicate it.

I totally agree on that! It's a shame our government has gotten to be too much of a swamp.

Can someone dumb this down for me? Is it going to effect me who was born with hydrocephalus aka water on the brain and part of my brain missing. I am in the hospital for physical health and mental health issues. If I loose my medical insurance I'm screwed. 😞

Those abusing or fraudulently using the systems.
Good. I'm so sick of people jumping the border and coming here and taking things that aren't theirs. If they want to be here they can get green card!

Besides the fraudulent and the able-bodied who can work, who will it affect?

I am not against the bill but unless there's some sort of provision, the people who are on Medicaid/low income but still not approved for disability because the disability process is so ridiculous may be caught in the crossfires. I personally know people who are in this situation and have been fighting for disability for 2 years, despite having very obvious disabilities that prevent them from working. I know that there will be some higher copays for some services such as dialysis, it could be up to $35 per visit which could be really difficult for some people. Hopefully it won't affect those who truly need it the most and that they will be able to cut enough waste and fraud just by booting off the frauds.

Have you read the bill itself or the FAQ's on the government's website?

MYTH: The One Big Beautiful Bill “kicks American families off Medicaid.”
FACT: As the President has said numerous times, there will be no cuts to Medicaid. The One Big Beautiful Bill protects and strengthens Medicaid for those who rely on it—pregnant women, children, seniors, people with disabilities, and low-income families—while eliminating waste, fraud, and abuse. The One Big Beautiful Bill removes illegal aliens, enforces work requirements, and protects Medicaid for the truly vulnerable.

MYTH: The One Big Beautiful Bill “cuts Medicare.”
FACT: Medicare has not been touched in this bill— absolutely nothing in the bill reduces spending on Medicare benefits. This legislation does not make a single cut to welfare programs—it safeguards and protects these programs for all eligible Americans.

MYTH: The One Big Beautiful Bill “will hurt people with disabilities.”
FACT: The One Big Beautiful Bill protects and strengthens Medicaid for Americans with disabilities. Rest assured, those with disabilities receiving Medicaid will receive no loss or change in coverage.

MYTH: “SNAP work requirements are unnecessary.”
FACT: Only 28% of able-bodied adults on SNAP work. The One Big Beautiful Bill promotes work, responsibility, and restores SNAP to serve the truly needy. SNAP enrollment remains high even in a strong economy, including millions of able-bodied adults who could work. In fact, almost three-quarters of able-bodied adults without dependents on SNAP have no earned income. The mission of the program has failed. SNAP was intended to be temporary help for those who encounter tough times—we are strengthening this program to serve those who need it most.

MYTH: “SNAP is being gutted and cutting food stamps for families, causing them to go hungry.”
FACT: The One Big Beautiful Bill protects and strengthens SNAP. Right now, almost three-quarters of able-bodied adults without dependents on SNAP have no earned income and the fraud rate is high. The mission of the program has failed: SNAP was intended to be temporary help for those who encounter tough times. Now, it’s become so bloated that it is leaving fewer resources for those who truly need help. We are committed to preserving SNAP for the truly needy.
