The newest happening with Biden is he got his foot caught in the pedal straps and fell off his bike. I only saw one video version so I don't know if anyone reached out to help him fall. All I saw were phone cameras aimed at him to record the entire thing.

I still think he has dementia. When people have dementia, they have issues lifting their feet up which causes walking problems, climbing stairs problems, etc... Riding a bike is actually supposed to help keep mobility, but why would they put the straps on his bike?

If he had a toe strap on the pedal and the wrong shoes I can see it happening. I fell of a bike the same way coming to a stop with some makeshift toe straps that I could not get my foot out of.

He's used to riding his bike practically every day. It's not like this is a new thing for him.

It's surprisingly easy to forget to remove feet from clips. I rode hundreds of miles in SPD shoes and every once in a while something would mean I had to stop in a hurry and get a foot down. I kept the clips on the pedals set quite loose because that meant I could pull my foot out in many different ways if I had to.

I'm not convinced Biden is fully mentally sharp but don't know I'd put too much stock in a single accident.

You can literally see in the video his foot gets stuck in the leather straps he has around the pedals… it was just a human error that I myself have done many times.

Do you know that people with dementia have difficulties lifting up their foot? We've seen him stumble too many times.

Edited to add a quote from an article:
I have a saying, “The further advanced dementia becomes, the closer their feet will stay to the ground.”

What I mean by this is, people who suffer from a dementia related disease will eventually develop an unsteady gait, hardly lifting their feet. Instead they will develop a shuffle and this creates a higher risk of falling.

THE RISK OF FALLING INCREASES WITH DEMENTIA

I didn't know quite what to make of this incident for the reason that it's possible to lose one's balance when lifting the trailing leg over that bar just below the seat. However, that doesn't usually cause the rider to fall down.

I was diagnosed with neuropathy wich, at times, affects my balance and gait. I've been prone to falls and tripping by merely walking along a sidewalk. I often catch my feet on stairs and stumble as well. The imfamous Presidential stumble onto 'Air-Force One' could just as well have been me. And I should mention at age 14 my foot slipping off a bike pedal and going head first over the handlebars. Still no dementia then or now.
There are a lot of reasons for risks of falls

I think as part of a bigger picture there are many concerns about Biden's coherence. I just don't know that it's helpful when some aspects of the press jump all over every little thing as if it were definitive.

Sometimes I fumble my words and forget what I wanted to say. Sometimes I catch the leading edge of a foot when I walk. I once fell over on my bike because I forgot to unclip my pedals, and had a couple of close calls where I was starting to tip before wrenching my foot free from the clips. It happens, but I can't help thinking that the growing tendency to see every single mishap as proof positive simply makes concerns appear less credible. I think there are enough other reasons to doubt Biden without needing to put him falling off his bike under a microscope.

But it's not just one little thing here or there. It's the culmination of things that all fit into the dementia symptom category. For years the press tried to wonder if Reagan had issues but the White House denied everything. Except, we find out years later that he DID have Alzheimer's, so if we think the White House isn't going to cover up the health of the President, then we kid ourselves.

Sure, like I said before I'm not convinced Biden is entirely coherent. I'm just not sure it's helpful to seize on every little thing as if it were proof positive.

It's interesting to see the traditionally left-leaning press breaking ranks with the "everything is fine, nothing to see here" movement though.

What is your experience with the dementia symptom category?

I don't think there's much of a comparison to be made between the two men. And it wasn't until Reagan left office--FOURTEEN YEARS AFTER HE WAS ELECTED, in fact--that he was diagnosed as being in the early stages of Alzheimers. This other guy, from his first year as president, couldn't find his way off the stage, constantly is unable to remember his words, literally needs someone to take him by the arm to guide him in public, and walks like each step needs his full attention. Reagan was never like that while in office but, as you say, his enemies accused him of anything and everything they could conjure up.

Multiple family and friends have had different types of dementia and at different stages. When you deal with people who are close to you, you can see others who have the symptoms and their family could be in denial. Or masking it. My mother-in-law didn't want anyone to know about her issues so it was hidden for the longest time from even other family members.

He clearly thought he'd moved his foot from the strap. God bless our President and nation.

It was the fault of the tire. Too much inflation.
