How wonderful that you are feeling better, Lammchen.

Thank you!! :) It's been hard with family in town to try to keep going and doing things and keep up with my health. The good news is that they've all been taking naps in the afternoons LOL That wasn't expected at all!

The best "remedy" is to avoid contact with infected persons and never get a cold.

:p

I don't think this was a cold but sinusitis from allergies. I do try to avoid going in the backyard since the neighbors have 2 cottonwood trees I'm highly allergic to in their back yard.

Sneak out during the night and cut down those two trees.

I meant it in jest, but..... IF you are willing to pay for it (?!), you MIGHT be able to ask them to remove the two trees - if you pay for that and for two trees to replace them (no doubt smaller). Not cheap (depending on how big they are) BUT if you are SURE that IS the problem, it might be worth it. How well do you get along with the neighbors, lol?

I hope for improvement for you....

I know you were kidding :D

They are brand new neighbors. Their daughter has allergies so I'm hoping they cut the trees down for her sake. There are 40 trees in the yard. It's not like they'll be missing anything if those 2 are gone!

I usually use a humidifier and it helps right away. This time it helped at first but now it didn't seem to work last night. I've been drinking tons of liquids.

What do you usually do to remedy a cough? Besides cough syrup. I like to go au natural ;)
A humidifier? Did you mean dehumidifier?

Just curious; I struggle with coughing daily with copd and Tue Louisiana humidity doesn't help, but the arid atmosphere of the south west was quite helpful if I remember correctly.

Is it a productive cough?

The moisture of a humidifier is supposed to help a cough clear up but I don't know much about COPD. My cough is almost gone now thankfully. Still a few hacks here and there.

Allergies have been my worst enemy since I was a teenager. The cottonwoods were worse in Michigan than here, but we have a good number here as well - the local mall is even called "Cottonwood Mall" :)
But back home it was so major that the cotton fluffs covered the lawn like snow. Fortunately, I've found some allergy meds that work for me, but I'll sometimes sit outside at a Starbucks or whatever and just get on a sneezing fit. I still battle sinus issues and headaches, too.

Oh the snow effect of cottonwoods!! Back in high school before we had air conditioning in the building I'd suffer during final exams because of that stuff flying around and into the windows! :( I didn't know about allergy medicines then.
