Tenor here....

Our choir (like our parish) is TINY - we have 10 to 12. None is a professional in any sense, we all just do our best, making a joyful NOISE unto the Lord.

I enjoy it.

Some of us can play some instruments, too. I play guitar and have used that with the choir a couple of times. And have used that with Stille Nacht for Christmas Eve. We have two that play trumpet (that seems to come in more handy, including for this coming Easter) and one plays the violin (although needing much notice and practice - she does well, inspite of what she thinks). But nearly always, we just sing.... accompanied by the piano or organ.

You?

I AM the choir. Just me.

I go to a tiny church and they used to have a choir but it was hard getting schedules to coordinate for rehearsals.

At my old church I was the choir director for 2 choirs (adult and youth) and it was so much fun. I miss singing with others in 4 part harmony!

We are small also. I sing and the guitarist sings. That's our choir.

I tend to hide in the back of church so I can sing out without offending too many ppl.
Never been in a choir, wish I had a singers voice, though. I love to join in.

Do black gospel. That always sounds great no matter how horrible yo voice, well as long as you don't do the lead. We had a black gospel choir workshop in church years ago. Was great.
Btw you sound like a nightingale.

I don't sing to microphones. I think there's a clause in the Geneva Convention that expressly forbids such things.

I don't use a mic if I am singing a song. If I'm leading Matins I do because they kind of want me to since the congregation is singing along.
