In Revelation:
7 trumpets, 7 bowls, 7 lampstands, 7 angels.

God told Joshua to circle Jericho for 7 days.
Elijah told Naaman to dip in the river Jordan 7 times.
God said to rest in the 7th day.
The Golden lampstand (menorah) has 7 branches.

Am I just seeing a pattern where none was intended? Or is God purposefully choosing that number?

Am I just delusional? Am I going crazy? Am I just seeing what I want to see? Or is God choosing the number 7 on purpose?

The Hebrews considered the number 7 to mean eternity but also completeness and perfection. So when the number 7 is used it refers back to the Holy Trinity which is eternal and perfect.

The Star of David is a good example, the 6 outer triangles represent the 6 days of work which make up the 7th shape in the center (rest).
The idea being that time worked pays off so you can comfortably enjoy your leisure with the fruits of your labor.. 6 alone represents "the love of money" and materialism (restlessness/unsatisfaction = greed), the 5 pointed star is seen as wicked, 5 points creates the 6th center (satan in place of rest).
The apple has 5 seeds that form the 5 pointed star, which may be why Adam and Eve are usually depicted holding the apple ("the root of all evil")

An interesting fact is that you cannot fold anything more than 7 times
