Our church has been gifted altar candles that will be used for when we have Holy Communion and not lit at other times. Does your church have these candles too?

The idea of having none at all be lit is something that normally is done for Good Friday services in the liturgical churches, but otherwise we have two lighted candles ("lights") on the altar for services with Holy Communion.

Some churches that favor more ceremony have six lights in addition to the two mentioned above, but in order not to depart from the standard usage, these are placed on a raised shelf that's immediately behind the altar. (From the nave, it looks to the people like they're all on the altar.)

My church is having some special altar candles/holders set out starting tomorrow that are only to be lit for Holy Communion. We also have the other altar candles that are lit at the beginning of every service as well as the baptismal candle.
