My alerts only work about 50 percent of the time. Which means I don't always get back to a post directed at me. Is that common here?

NathanH83 is still on mod que which might be the reason why Lees doesn't get any notifications when he responds, might be related to the approve/unapprove controls?

Same here, but I just go to the "latest activity" and "threads with your posts" drop-downs. Not really an issue for me.

Well and good. As long as i know the 'alerts' system doesn't work and I should not depend on it.

I messaged the owner so he could look into it since he's more technical than I am and can quickly figure out if things are working or not. I'm sorry this is taking so long to get an answer.

Hello, taking a look I’m not seeing anything that could be causing this other than anything such as moderator actions on another member delaying when a post is shown and delays the alert being sent to you.
