What are the pros and cons of going to a buffet restaurant for dinner?

Pros: You can take what you want. Cons: It's expensive and sometimes the food is lousy and only the free load of icecream you can take makes up for it a bit. I did it once in a holiday park with the kids. 25 euro a person for some filthy stuff they of course didn't like and neither did I. A pity of my money.

The food is typically AWFUL. And getting more of less is not a good thing.

There are relatively good buffets - but they typically cost at least $30 per person and just not worth it. I recently paid $35.00 for a breakfast buffet at a hotel... the breakfast food was exceptionally good (and not just for a buffet) but not worth half the price unless you ate like a snake.

The the high school football player who eats 5,000 calories per day and eats so fast he can't taste it, well... for him, buffets are great.
