Where else would a 6 year old get a weapon unless it was from a family member? I think the parents are responsible, absolutely.
The school also was neglect because they only activated their metal detectors on certain days. That's a weird policy.

This is terrible and the parents should be held somewhat responsible depending on the details of the case. It's very sad and his age, he cannot truly be guilty, not even in the teenager sense.
