Salvation not based on our merit
Really we can never at all do anything on our merit especially trying to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. As only accepting Christ and forgiveness of sins that we can enter God's kingdom. John 3:16-17 makes it very clear!- John Steed

Does God Humble Us?
God does humble us. As we are not nor never will be better than anybody. Showing humility and kindness changes and makes the world be better. We need to also remember Christ is the way, truth, and the life. We need to decrease so that Christ can increase. John 3:30!- John Steed

A deeply troubling and awful thing.
Christ should always be a joy and that He loved us and never has stopped loving us. The reason He sacrificed and was humiliated and beaten before that brutal cross so that we wouldn't have to do it ourselves. Which we should had as we are and were sinners and Jesus was not.
