    If you don't believe that the Holy Spirit inspired those who wrote it, then how would you believe that Jesus' words were accurate? Jesus didn't contradict what the rest of the bible says. HE is the way.

    No, you don't contribute. God does it all for you. When we sin, it doesn't automatically exclude us from heaven. But the more we stick to that sin, it can lead us away from Him. That's not contributing to our salvation but causing harm to it.
