    Covid Vaccine Reactions

Not just there. A friend of mine is facing the choice between getting the jab (pointless, since he's already had COVID) or losing his job. Of course when there are shortages of workers the best thing to do is fire a load of them.

I think it would help us if we knew more about Jesus' everyday life

Presumably if whatever Jesus did for that time was something we needed to know about it would have been recorded somewhere. Perhaps he did have romantic feelings towards a woman. The fact that such feelings, assuming they existed, aren't recorded indicates they aren't relevant to our spiritual...

I think it would help us if we knew more about Jesus' everyday life

I think if we needed to know that sort of thing it would have been recorded somewhere. We know Jesus was a man so we can deduce a lot of basic stuff. Many people don't like thinking about this side of things but it's reasonable to assume he went to sleep and woke up, he ate and drank, he went...

So... What are YOU doing? - Part 8

On the second attempt my wife's tracker registered her benchmark run for her training plan. We did the exercise yesterday but she did something wrong starting it, so it didn't register. Now having gone around our loop with her I need to go back out and do my own scheduled workout. She has her...

Roe vs. Wade and the Supreme Court

If the choice is to terminate the pregnancy (i.e. kill the fetus) or continue with the pregnancy knowing the chances are mother and fetus will both die it's pretty easy to justify it, however difficult the decision is for the ones who have to make it. if the choice is to terminate the pregnancy...

    Covid Vaccine Reactions

Doubtful. Why care about what's in it when you can just issue executive orders that shut people out from society if they don't comply? If ever there was a time that useless governance was playing into the hands of "mark of the beast" theorists, this is it. The vaccine that doesn't prevent you...

So... What are YOU doing? - Part 8

Looking at the fog. I registered for a training plan with my fitness tracker. Saturday's exercise was a baseline workout, presumably to gauge roughly where I'm starting from. Today's exercise is cadence drills and hill repeats. I'm not sure which hill I'm going to use - there are a few around...

Roe vs. Wade and the Supreme Court

Thanks for clarifying. With regard to abortions after the prefrontal cortex is developed do you believe they should be allowed if there is no compelling medical reason they are required? Obviously cases where the mother's life is endangered by continuing the pregnancy are very different...

Roe vs. Wade and the Supreme Court

Not sure if I'm missing something here. If the gestational period is 40 weeks and the prefrontal cortex is operational 2/3 of the way through doesn't that work out to more or less 25 weeks? I'm not sure if I'm missing your point.

So... What are YOU doing? - Part 8

I took the chance to do a bit more of a cleanup over the other side of the house. While I was at it I cleared away a bunch of old cellulose insulation that had fallen out of walls where I pulled the walls down, and also took out a couple of wall studs that are in the way of where I want to put a...

So... What are YOU doing? - Part 8

Went for a walk/run with my wife, who has taken something of an interest in jogging. She jogged for more of the route than I expected her to. Then I took the chance to clean up some of the debris over on the other side of the house. Having taken out a chimney stack some months back I noticed...

    Texas Proposition

That makes a lot of sense. The kind of thing that was being done to the elderly in nursing homes was a disgrace.

How has church changed for you since this pandemic started?

If they record sermons I'm guessing they are more Mennonite than Amish? There's probably a web site to help you find a congregation near you.

So... What are YOU doing? - Part 8

The sun finally reappeared so I'm going for a walk around town with my wife. Had hoped to do that earlier but the clouds rolled in and I didn't want to get rained on with a cold wind blowing. So we took the chance to get some general admin done. It's good having a paper shredder again.

    Real ID in the US

I think the idea of Real ID is that you need a form of ID that qualifies. If you don't have a passport you can get a driving license that is valid for Real ID purposes. Because, you know, a driving license isn't really proof of ID. Gotta love the gubmint.

So... What are YOU doing? - Part 8

Gloomy rainy weather this morning so I'm not going to get much exercise in before the wedding. I've got some computer stuff to do anyway. Then the wedding is this afternoon, and hopefully it will be nicer weather this evening so I can get however many more steps I need to maintain my goal...

So... What are YOU doing? - Part 8

Got another run in today, which took more than I wanted to give. I don't know why it was a struggle but it was. Then I remembered a tax form with a filing deadline of today, so got that sorted out. Then I wrote a piece for church on Sunday and by then I was feeling tired after a not-great night...

    Real ID in the US

My wife and I have passports so it's not really a problem where flights are concerned. I can't imagine needing to be on a military base any time soon.
