    Being overweight

I often wonder whether the key issue is this "calories in minus calories burned", when it's more about calories out than calories burned. Calories out are a combination of burning calories by moving about and what the body gets rid of. It's not a hugely appetising thought but excrement contains...

    Is The Little Mermaid demonic?

Honestly Messy, all I'm seeing here is a bunch of Christian-ish jargon that doesn't mean anything and doesn't relate to the topic at hand.

    Is The Little Mermaid demonic?

Every single day, except for that one day when the sun didn't rise....

    Is The Little Mermaid demonic?

Awwww.... you mean every time I prayed for the sun to rise in the morning I was wasting my time?

    Is The Little Mermaid demonic?

I'm not sure what that has to do with what we're discussing. It seems like a semantic diversion. ... except that if you're saying God is unable to do anything unless we invite him you turn us into gods and turn God into little more than a serving boy. There's a difference between wanting...

    Is The Little Mermaid demonic?

It sounds like you're saying dominion theology is a lie while presenting a variation of dominion theology. If the devil was the ruler of this world, and those possessed by evil spirits were the devil's servants doing the devil's bidding in the devil's world, having taken possession of people...

    A picnic table

We don't eat outside. It seems like a lot of effort to carry stuff outside rather than eating it inside, and if you eat inside you don't get eaten by mosquitoes.

    Energy Saving Tips:

It seems to me there's far more potential to save energy by doing things like turning the heat down a degree or two and only boiling the water you actually need, than there is by worrying that something plugged in but turned off might be drawing a couple of watts of power.

    Is The Little Mermaid demonic?

Sounds a lot like dominion theology. If the devil had such authority over the world why did the demons obey Jesus? If they were the devil's servants doing the devil's bidding on the earth given over to the devil why couldn't they just tell Jesus to leave them alone and mind his own business...

    Is The Little Mermaid demonic?

I think what's messed up is the theology coming from some corners that God will just leave us to face the consequences of doing whatever randomly determined thing is Not To Be Done today. I also think there are a lot of people who, for whatever reason, feel a personal conviction that they...

    NY ban on gas stoves

Sounds reasonable. Jeff Bezos can have a $500,000,000 hyperyacht and nobody cares about the environmental impact. But if you or I want a new dishwasher you'd think the world was about to end.

    A garage/yard sale

I've been to a few of them but most of the time it seems either the prices are so high you might as well buy new, or what's for sale is mostly junk. That said I have picked up a few curiosities at sales. I have a couple of very old PO box doors. Some day I plan to make them into a coin bank. I...

    King Charles' coronation

The Queen's mother, the wife of King George VI, was known as Queen Elizabeth. The woman once called Kate Middleton, who became the Duchess of Cambridge when she married Prince William, then also became the Princess of Wales when William was made Prince of Wales when Charles became King. Camilla...

    King Charles' coronation

Of course, while the Queen lived Camilla couldn't be Queen, just as Charles couldn't be King. When the Queen died Charles became King, which led to the question of whether Camilla would remain Princess or become Queen. While she lived Queen Ellizabeth gave the green light for Camilla to be...

    Swimming pool

No pool for me. I think a fixed pool would put me off buying a house - I can't imagine using it unless it's a big pool, and a big pool probably costs more to maintain than I'm interesting in spending on a pool.

    Being overweight

I find it curious how difficult it can be to buy clothes that fit, that are designed for any kind of activity. Obviously most people end up overweight due to a lack of activity but it's really not helpful if you're trying to lose weight and every which way you can't find anything the right...

    'Defender of the Faith'

Oh yes, many UK coins include the inscription FID DEF, short for fidei defensor or "defender of the faith". Here's a coin from 2015 There was talk some time ago about Charles tweaking the title to "defender of faith", in recognition of the many people of many other faiths in the UK.

Is "it was their time" a biblical concept?

True, if we're playing the game of "guess what God's will might have been", who knows if it was God's will for someone to walk to the very edge of death only to turn back? I know a guy who posts on Facebook every year to commemorate the anniversary of his death. Yes, he was declared medically...

    King Charles' coronation

When Queen Elizaeth was alive she ruled that Camilla would be Queen Consort, as opposed to Princess or Princess Consort. Now "the Queen" no longer refers to Elizabeth it's easier to refer to Camilla as Queen than Queen Consort.

    King Charles' coronation

I didn't watch it. My wife did, and is glad she did. It looks like it rained for much of the ceremony, but still vast numbers of people lined The Mall in the rain.
