    It really gives me peace of mind, especially since my daughter is an hour and a half away and my other relatives are 12 hours away. My church friends are about 20 minutes plus, but I would hate to bother them unless it's an absolute emergency. I don't mind asking neighbors.

    My little block each has an acre minimum of space, so they're close enough. :) A few of them are home all the time as homemakers and we have all exchanged phone numbers at the last block party.

    That's good you're within walking distance to a gas station. Our nearest one is 4 miles away. That's too much to walk with a big jug of gasoline on the way home.
