Justification: By OUR works or CHRIST'S works?

Forgiveness of sins is connected to baptism, to faith & repentance, and to prayer. Therefore, you shall pray in this way: Our Father, who is in heaven: May your name be kept holy. May your kingdom come. May your will be done, as in heaven, so also on earth. Give us this day our...

    True religion and false worship.

No all religions are true. Many are polytheistic. Some are centred on a philosophy rather than on gods and goddesses. Several are centred on one God yet deny that Jesus is God incarnate and the Christ long anticipated in ancient Israel's religion. One religion is true. It is centred on the...

I agree that it is best skipped over for most purposes. Thanks for your response :)

You responded with a laugh. I am intrigued about why you did.

Justification: By OUR works or CHRIST'S works?

God works in "someone" to make them say "forgive me Lord for I have sinned" when in fact their sins were forgiven (presumably by God) two thousand years before they ask? If they do not ask are they still forgiven two thousand years ago despite not asking and not repenting?

What do these words "speak to the heart": For the living know they will die; but the dead do not know anything, nor have they any longer a reward, for their memory is forgotten. (Ecclesiastes 9:5) ?

Justification: By OUR works or CHRIST'S works?

If they were forgiven 2,000 years ago then why ask now for forgiveness?

The whole world before thee is as a little grain of the balance

God's judgements play a role in promoting human repentance. For thou canst shew thy great strength at all times when thou wilt; and who may withstand the power of thine arm? For the whole world before thee is as a little grain of the balance, yea, as a drop of the morning dew that falleth down...

Monday, 18th April 2016 MORNING I will raise them up a Prophet from among their Brethren like unto thee. Deut. 18:18 [Moses] stood between the LORD and you at that time, to shew you the word of the LORD: for ye were afraid. Deut. 5:5 There is one God, and one mediator between God and men...

    Interesting pocket watches ... cheap

I bought a cute little owl watch - several in fact to give as gifts to some of the ladies who work in the parish office. The wings close. I bought several in silver (more like chrome). I've given two so far and they were quite joyfully received. They are quite inexpensive. Only about $3 each.

Every word of it is teaching to be received by the faithful as divinely revealed truth to be followed?

The group in the Temple [Rev 11:1] Who are they?

How many places will you need to list all ten of the ten commandments being given to Christians as obligations? There are only ten commandments that are in the purview of this question.

Only the wise know what things really mean.

What's written in Ecclesiastes can be quite close to nihilism at times. Do you think that everything written in Ecclesiastes can be taken as teaching to be received by the faithful as divinely revealed truth to be followed?

The group in the Temple [Rev 11:1] Who are they?

I asked you where "all ten are in the new..." as you claimed. I said nothing about "one is missing" that is your statement not mine. So, where are "all ten" found in the new testament?

Violence, non-violence and the work of the Holy Spirit.

In this world the ultimate and most deeply worthy goal of human beings and of the human community is the abolition of war. Consider: "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God." "governments cannot be denied the right to legitimate defence once every means of peaceful...

Only the wise know what things really mean.

What do you think of the message in the book of Ecclesiastes. Only the wise know what things really mean. Wisdom makes them smile and makes their frowns disappear. (Ecclesiastes 8:1)
