I will not write much to introduce this video clip but I think that some of you may enjoy watching/listening to it.

Is Dominion over the earth for this age or the next?

Some preachers teach that the world will be converted to Christ and that thus the dominion of the kingdom of God over the Earth will be established progressively step by step as godly men and women take authority over the various spheres of the human enterprise. Do you think that is how the...

    The meaning of glory.

There seems, in the holy scriptures, to be two categories for the glory of God. First there is God's own glory which seems to be unchanging and eternal. It is what makes God God. He will not share it with another. Second there is the glory that the faithful ascribe to God. The praises and...

    Baptism by sprinkling

Does baptism really join a faithful one to Jesus Christ's death and resurrection? Does Baptism really wash away sins? Does baptism really save? Is one really born from above by baptism?

Controversial: strange fire ... first presentation.

You read my post with an interesting spin on what it says. My main interest is in what people teach and what claims they make for the sources of their teaching. Here's another example

Controversial: strange fire ... first presentation.

Are you offended when I reject the bad and stick with the good? Okay. I will not argue against your claim about me because I reckon I know what I did read better than you do. Anyway, the point I sought to present is that there are leaders in the Charismatic/pentecostal movement who are...

Controversial: strange fire ... first presentation.

Many people say that the pope's alleged infallibility is too absurd to be accepted and that hence they are not Catholics because of it (and other things) yet people accept the idea of some chap saying "thus says the Lord ..." about some dyspeptic aural hallucination they've had or a word from...

    Easter thread

As far as I am aware the only historical link is from saint Bede saying that the Saxons had a goddess whose name was related to the spelling for Easter in his time. That is a rather weak link.

    Interesting pocket watches ... cheap

Many of my formal dress trousers have a pocket watch pocket. Sometimes they call it a "change" pocket.

What makes a person a saint?

No, we're talking about both hear & now and the hear-after. The saints in heaven are saints "now".

It appears to be from a German word for east "Ostern".

I think the "balanced" response to "the laughter thing" is to say "what a lot of balderdash" and move on :)

    Easter thread

I do not think that "Easter" is named after any fertility god or goddess.

    Baptism by sprinkling

So it is your version of a Catechism on baptism then, some sort of infallible truth that you cannot possibly improve upon or summarise because it is holy and stuff?

    Interesting pocket watches ... cheap

It ought to be a law to have a pocket watch pocket in men's trousers! :)

What makes a person a saint?

In heaven and after the resurrection none of the faithful sin.
