Ruth's Friendship Fellowship-Everyone Welcome, Come On In Part 4

I occasionally ask if they've found a church that they enjoyed. So far they haven't. I have not mentioned visiting my parish church. They are Pentecostal by choice - having been Methodist & Presbyterian by upbringing - so they would likely be unfamiliar and maybe unhappy in a Catholic church...

Pulpit and Pen on Eastern Orthodoxy

Geroge, the stuff at Pulpit & Pen in the two articles you linked are, what we in Australia call, "sh** stirring". And when you stir that stuff all you get is a stink. Close the door after opening the window and let the stink blow away. It isn't valuable. No loss to anybody when it wafts away...

    The third commandment.

To anticipate possible misunderstandings the third commandment is (according to Catholic numbering) this: Observe the day of the Sabbath, so that you may sanctify it, just as the Lord your God has instructed you. For six days, you shall labour and do all your work. The seventh is the day of the...

They are still Pentecostal and I have never tried to persuade them to 'convert'. The truth is that no one comes to the Faith by persuasive arguments alone. Something more is needed. The Spirit, grace, desire in their own hearts are needed. Since my role is as friend and helper I pray that God...

    Euthanizing pets

I had to euthanise my Mum's cat, it was a long time ago, and it was not very expensive and the vet disposed of the cat's body. I was quite fond of the cat, he was quite old and I had named him when I was a child. He was clever and affectionate but quite naughty. It was sad to see him so ill with...

Visiting day is ended. I went out for lunch with a couple who used to attend a Pentecostal meeting and now are not associating with any church but may some time in the coming months or years. Then I visited the friends I mentioned before, an elderly couple that I've known many years. Then I...

    Daily Light

Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, answered them. (Acts 4:8) Everyone knows that if you place a tea bag in a cup of hot water, that water will be transformed. It’s no longer just water, but a cup of tea with a distinct colour and flavour. Once they’re combined, it’s no small task to remove...

So... What are YOU doing? - Part 3

Give it time and there will be a credit rating eventually. For now I guess applying for a credit card and using it may help? Cars cost a lot and it rains a lot where you are so I guess a bicycle will not do nor a motorcycle maybe uber or a taxi? or is that too expensive?
