    For me the matter is not very difficult. If the church is Catholic and if the liturgy is followed then the holy scriptures are read and the gospel is preached in the prayers regardless of the quality and content of the homily.

    I read from many bibles and mark almost none of them. The only one with extensive marking is the one that a Jehovah's witness elder gave to me. Most of the markings are translation corrections. It has a lot of extraneous text added and a lot of translation errors so I fix them as I read along...
