The singular, unique, one Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church.

Anybody who wants to know what the Catholic Church teaches will read what the Catholic Church presents as its teaching. If you don't want to read it then don't. I am not going to shed a tear over that. But you won't be discussing Catholic Church teaching if you go to some other source or some...

A thought (or two) on unity.

There is the Catholic Church but I've no connection with a denomination and I don't know any rc denomination. But you have your slogans and prejudices to push so keep it up Josiah and I'll keep ignoring your prejudicial statements. If you can bring yourself to address the teaching of the...

Of course not. I don't subscribe to sola scriptura. I won't be playing on your playing field according to your rules. Theology's sources are deeper and wider than the texts in the holy bible especially a holy bible eviscerated to 66 books. You want no serious discussion just parroting the...

Admit it Josiah, you're not interested in unity of any kind if it involves Catholicism. Just say it and come clean :P

    Mission

Preaching the gospel to all nations, tribes, tongues, and peoples is an indisputable mission given to all Christians and especially to all Churches. Yet it is not always a simple task to undertake and it often requires great sensitivity to culture and folk beliefs before the gospel can be...

A thought (or two) on unity.

The Second council of the Vatican held in the 1960s is a life time ago for most folk on CH yet the issues raised in the council and debated by its members and also by those from other faith traditions that confess the Christian faith are still with us today and some have become more urgent...

You're request is in my prayer. I woke fairly early, and had a bath now I am considering which mass to attend, there's a choice of 07:30 but I would need to hurry now since that is only 30 mins away, 09:30 which is attractive, and 18:00 which is the backup plan :)

How big is your storage capacity?

My space needs are not great. The desktop uses about 800 GB spread across three drives about 150GB on the 500GB SSD boot drive, about 400 GB on an internal 1 TB HDD, and about 300GB on the 1 TB external HDD used mainly for backups.

The text below is taken from UNITATIS REDINTEGRATIO the DECREE ON ECUMENISM (source) CHAPTER III CHURCHES AND ECCLESIAL COMMUNITIES SEPARATED FROM THE ROMAN APOSTOLIC SEE 13. We now turn our attention to the two chief types of division as they affect the seamless robe of Christ. The first...

Josiah, you appear satisfied with the heresies you proclaim so who am I to attempt to reform them. As for your statements regarding the Catholic Church's teaching they are not true. You may profit from reading Gaudium et Spes - available here.

    I upgraded my old laptop.

With the Sony vaio upgrading memory and the hdd only needed one part of the 'backplate' opened and that only needed two Phillips head screws to be removed. The ram clipped into place without any screws and the hdd had only four screws to undo. It wasn't hard.

I have no idea what you mean by "closed communion" but for clarity's sake Catholics invite all who truly believe in the real presence to partake of communion but since nearly no Protestant believes as Catholics do about the real presence no invitation can legitimately be extended to them. If...

How does our fasting provide the healing?

I do not know; God has not tested me under those conditions and I feel no certainty about myself yet I trust God to keep his promises - Temptation should not take hold of you, except what is human. For God is faithful, and he will not permit you to be tempted beyond your ability. Instead, he...

The Catechism of the Catholic Church Compendium teaches these things about being the people of God. The Church: people of God, body of Christ, temple of the Spirit 153. Why is the Church the ‘people of God’? The Church is the ‘people of God’ because it pleased God to sanctify and save men not...
