    Seventh Day Adventists are legalistic about it and so are Messianic Jews. I don't recall any passages in holy scripture that say that God gave the clean and unclean food regulations as a health measure.

    Who knows? It is probably historical. Women used to do the house keeping. Men did the hunting. Things have changed but some arrangements have remained in place.
