    Are Catholics boring catechists?

:groupheads: [ironic humour intended to partially fulfil Proverbs 26:4,5]]Yes, one must never rely on works! So true!! Let's make sure we don't do any works of any kind lest it be thought that people can work their way to heaven!!![/end ironic humour] It is necessary to state in plain language...

CH a discussion board or bulletin board?

True, but then you can just skip the post and either write something interesting of your own or write nothing.

CH a discussion board or bulletin board?

Sometimes but usually not so much because the explanations are so often self serving distortions of what the verses say and are intended to teach. But sometimes people offer an honest view about a passage.

    Athesist

You certainly did not think that. Why you would tell a lie for the sake of imagined wit is interesting. There's a commandment about telling lies.

    Are Catholics boring catechists?

No. Boring and ignorant are not the same thing. There's irony in your comment. Probably unintentional irony.

    Thinking about Noah's ark

That's good. I sometimes take your posts seriously too. Mainly the ones that do not spend half or more of their words on complaining about Catholicism.

The people who write books are actual people too, right? Or are they somehow excluded from that category? And Lo, the last post and this one are from one chap to another without any noticeable quotes thus far.

MATTHEW 10:6 GO TO THE LOST SHEEP

Do you derive a lesson from the observations that you've made? If you do then what is it and how do you propose to apply it to today?

My question was intended to be a little bit rhetorical. Evidently you did not realise that.

CH a discussion board or bulletin board?

What's so noble and good about one's own ideas and how is a Christian discussion board ever going to avoid cut & pasted quotes from the bible or from sources that explain, support, or invent a doctrine? You can't be serious when you ask for people to "explain their own ideas" when in reality if...

    Thinking about Noah's ark

That's not a good result; it's just propaganda and if you think God did it then you're wrong. You did it. God had nothing whatever to do with your stated prejudices and dislikes. I'd be tempted to agree with that statement. and taken at face value it is fine except for making yourself the...

Was putting our faith in technology a good idea?

Build yourself a nice large Faraday cage and put your home inside it. Then the solar flare's electromagnetic radiations will not short out your internet equipment and you will have the internet all to yourself! :smirk:

    The fall

Anglicans are not among the "Reformed churches" neither is Lutheranism. But the point is that Martin Luther pursued his own private interpretations and refused to retract any of them when he was challenged. His reply was, according to a disputed Lutheran Tradition, "Here I stand (meaning on his...

    The fall

I am not so sure what Francis may or may not believe. I suspect that you do not have a better channel to his thought than I. The media frequently runs away with headlines that are not backed by facts. So I am hesitant to condemn Francis as you seem willing to do.
