    Jesus Christ, died for all

I think that "once for all" means "once for all [time]" rather than "once for all [people]".

Numerous popes have worked miracles, in your own life time both John XXIII and John Paul II have done so.

    Thinking about Noah's ark

You are mistaken, The pope is not God's spokesman. He can, however, speak concerning dogma and practise with assurance of truth because God assures him and us that when he so speaks he speaks as Christ's vicar on Earth. No pope receives new revelations from God and no pope pretends to be...

    Thinking about Noah's ark

I will reply with a long quote. It may not be something you will read but it may be useful if you do read it. 2. In His goodness and wisdom God chose to reveal Himself and to make known to us the hidden purpose of His will (see Eph. 1:9) by which through Christ, the Word made flesh, man might...

    All About Faith

I command you not to teach false doctrines anymore, as saint Paul says. So stop it and repent, return to the one, holy, Catholic, and apostolic Church.

    Jesus Christ, died for all

The error in your analysis is that you think verses that say that Jesus' death saves the sheep mean that Jesus didn't die for anyone else. But because there are verses that explicitly say that Jesus died for all the sheep are, of course, included but so are the others who do not come to Christ.

The Literary Lutheran Reads the Book of Concord

It's lovely to see a crucifix so prominently displayed on the table but sad to see an idol of Martin Luther there too. :smirk:

    All About Faith

It is not possible for human beings to stop other human beings from being wrong and spreading their wrongness. That is why Protestantism exists - because some human beings who were wrong got all worked up and splt from the Catholic Church and so on. Now we have Protestants of many different...

    Thinking about Noah's ark

The holy scriptures are "another book" because they are not God or angelic or anything other than human produced words. The difference between the holy scriptures and a book such as "gone with the wind" is that the holy scriptures purport to be produced by divine inspiration and to contain God's...

    Thinking about Noah's ark

2 dogs is fine, but likely to lead to a whole lot of inbreeding. 8,000,000 species has only 1 dog species. Dogs are a single species but African wild dogs, wolves, coyotes and so forth are different species, they are not domestic dogs. Same with cats, 1 species of domestic cat but it is not the...

    Jesus Christ, died for all

I see that you chaps like to make my threads very busy with all sorts of topics that are not quite the topic raised in the original post. But that's okay because it is how you usually approach a thread. It starts with a specific topic such as "Jesus Christ died for all" and you turn it into a...

    All About Faith

Protestants do things that God says not to do so they don't obey God. Really isn't it true that everyone does things that God says not to do and hence does not obey God?

Well then, you Orthodox chaps need to fix your Calendar! :P The holiday of Pesach, or Passover, falls on the Hebrew calendar dates of Nissan 15-22. Pesach 2019 (Passover) falls out at sundown on Friday, April 19, and ends at nightfall on Shabbat, April 27.

Do you really believe what you wrote? How many personal attacks become the mainstay of arguments against a church or against a theology? I think a lot do. I've seen Calvinism questioned because John Calvin had a hand in executing Servetus. And Catholicism attacked because some pope or bishop or...

    The Gospel according to NonStampCollector

What I mean is that saint Peter's question was not "where else shall we go Lord" because saint Peter was not asking what school of religious thought he should follow if he left following Jesus nor was he asking what place would be good to find a reliable and safe way to God. What saint Peter...
