    The Catholic Church teaches

Now you've done it and got our curiosity aroused! ;) Whatever could it be that is such a great draw? I promise not to say anything negative in reply, no matter what the answer is! :D

    Non denominational

Thanks. Sounds like an idea took hold among SBC churches that didn't affect other groups/denoms. Perhaps because of the impression sometimes given by that word "Southern."

Who is "him that justifieth the ungodly"?

You've made an important point there. If it were really as our friend has asserted, much of the Gospels would not say what they do. There would be no call to repentance. Jesus would not be doing that himself, nor would there be any reason for him to suffer and die, since it would all be over and...

Breathing is also ''something done,'' but it won't forgive your sins. .

    Your elderly years

Those things that you sit on and ride up the stairway look pretty good, but I don't know anybody who has one.

Who is "him that justifieth the ungodly"?

You've said that a couple of times, but it proves nothing just because you say it. As I mentioned in my last post, give us something of substance and I'll be back.

Who is "him that justifieth the ungodly"?

Wishing won't make it so, but I'll get back with you if you ever attempt a basis for your thinking about this matter. 👍

Who is "him that justifieth the ungodly"?

No, it doesn't. And I don't know who, other than yourself, might think that belief in itself makes a person righteous. Not even the churches that believe in the effectiveness of good works and disagree with the Sola Fide principle can accept the idea that good works alone will justify.

Who is "him that justifieth the ungodly"?

But that does not make it be a meritorious work that has spiritual consequences. 'Redeem' to the Christian and in a religious context refers to a person being make right with God, However, in ordinary day to day usage, the same word could mean any number of other things, including that you're...

Who is "him that justifieth the ungodly"?

It is not an act in the sense of being a (good) work. Not In the Scriptural and theological sense of the word work, that is. But you contend by your explanations that it is a good deed, much like the proverbial example of someone helping an old lady across the street. It is very wrong to...

Who is "him that justifieth the ungodly"?

As I recall, you want to believe that God predestines his Elect to salvation, and Faith in Christ's saving work therefore doesn't matter. But the Bible is clear about Faith being essential, so that is what we teach.

What do you think about kids drinking non-alcoholic drinks?

...which, however, is apple juice. For the occasion, we only pretend that it's champagne. With those "non-alcohoiic" drinks, however, they look just like beer (for example) in both the bottling and the contents, and they taste like beer (but minus the alcohol that is tasteless). Introducing...

Who is "him that justifieth the ungodly"?

That is not correct. The teaching is that Faith is not something we can come to apart from God. Nothing we can do on our own entitles us to have saving Faith. To be fair, there probably are some people who think the way you described, but the Bible and the Churches teach otherwise. After all...

What do you think about kids drinking non-alcoholic drinks?

What I think probable is that there is a broad-based campaign underway aimed at the abolition of laws against having sex with children. Parents being prohibited from knowing that their own child has been talked into 'changing' his or her sex, including surgery; indoctrination in abnormal sex...

    Pilate’s regret

Yes, but there is an issue here. Many people who are into the gifts also hold the belief that every true believer must be exercising one or more of the gifts and seem to feel that they are supposed to lay hands on whoever and whenever, and it will happen. That's because, you know, they received...

    Pilate’s regret

You didn't get it, I understand. However, it couldn't have been clearer and was stated more than once. And as I have said, that's not correct. There are more than two, but you are apparently geared to deal with only one--beside you own, of course. And another is that it's not an "all or...

USA What if Donald Trump is indicted by a Democrat prosecutor?

There's no "interpretation" involved with the question of that OP. Here it the question again-- "What do you think the effect upon voters in the upcoming primaries and the general election will be?" and then there followed three choices of an answer to choose from. You blew right by all of...

USA What if Donald Trump is indicted by a Democrat prosecutor?

Naturally. That's why the question was worth asking. You misunderstood the question that was asked. IMHO it would have been unkind of me NOT to have explained that and given you the opportunity to post a different response.

USA What if Donald Trump is indicted by a Democrat prosecutor?

It was just a lighthearted, "for fun" question that was asked in that forum, purely speculative, and not unlike others that have been started here ("What's your favorite ice cream flavor," Who do you think will win the Rose Bowl and why?") -- except of course that this one was about elections...
