Jesus died for the sins of the world

If you hadn’t been predestined to salvation, would you have been justified?

    Accretions

Again, what happened to sola scriptura? THE Scriptures given are usually quite 'iffy', (e.g. 'households') leaving more questions than answers.

    Accretions

Well we know infants aren't soldiers. (Lu 3:14) touché. People can baptize/dedicate children all they want to, my beef is the doctrine of baptismal regeneration.

    Accretions

Are there any actual instances in Scripture where we see infants baptized? I realize there are a few nebulous verses the paedobaptists twist and squeeze to justify infant baptism. It seemed convenient for the new Church-State ‘Christian‘ religion to promote their numbers.

    Accretions

Would infant baptism be one of those accretions? This is a sore spot for the Reformed and Lutherans who claim sola scriptura, but must add human reason to make the Scriptures support such a practice. I realize the ante-nicean Church may have practiced such but we don't see it explicitly taught...

Are you supposed to forgive "some" only?

    Thanks for your opinion.

Do you agree that there are verses in the Bible that seem to express contradictory ideas?

I knew of this Forum previously, I’m not in the habit of clicking on unrecognizable links just as I don’t open unrecognizable emails. Anyways, if you can’t give a couple of examples, I’ll take your ‘contradictory claims‘ as bogus.

Are you supposed to forgive "some" only?

You mentioned this in post #61… I think the old man, the flesh, from everyone died with Him on the cross and He took everyone's sins in His body, except sins against the Spirit, but if someone rejects Him, it was in vain for them and won't justify or save them. could you please tell me where...

Are you supposed to forgive "some" only?

Scripture should mold and form our reality rather than what ‘we think’.

Where did I agree with’ ‘free will’? You probably have me confused with someone else.

I don’t click on links, can you give a couple of examples?

Do you agree that there are verses in the Bible that seem to express contradictory ideas?

It would help if you gave some examples of seemingly 'contradictory ideas'. (as stated in the title)

Are you supposed to forgive "some" only?

Soo, ‘Do you believe heaven will be filled with unforgiven people?’ I’d be stunned if you do.

Are you supposed to forgive "some" only?

You shouldn’t be surprised as people’s views change as they grow in the Lord.

Are you supposed to forgive "some" only?

Actually I was quite studied in the Confessional Lutheran side of things, and am quite familiar with their position.

Are you supposed to forgive "some" only?

To say all were justified at the cross (universal justification) is as foreign sounding to me as limited atonement is to you. Do you have Scripture for that one? Under that scheme ‘free will’ would reign supreme. I have seen too many ‘remember their baptism’, who consequently had no interest...

Are you supposed to forgive "some" only?

No, I don’t believe God forgives all. I don’t believe you do either. Do you believe heaven will be filled with unforgiven people? A person must come in repentance and faith to Jesus Christ to be saved. No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up on...

Are you supposed to forgive "some" only?

I was referring to this part of her post..."Then God is asking you to lie to people by saying He forgives mankind when you believe He only forgives some?" He only forgives some (not all). Those who place their trust in Jesus.

Are you supposed to forgive "some" only?

I'm not sure where you came up with that. He freely forgives those who put their trust in Jesus, i.e. those whom He had predestinated in time He calls and justifies those who heed His Gospel call. Did He call everyone? Does He justify all?
