Lutherans don't believe Jesus is God?

If it weren't for posts like the one I quoted above, I could accept that. He doesn't intend it, but then just keeps going, and going, and going...

Lutherans don't believe Jesus is God?

Okay, so the first two (from what it appears) are dealing with the idea of "Penal Substitutionary Atonement", and possible reasons against it. There's really nothing new there, and certainly nothing that denies Christ's Deity. The second I won't accept without a source (linked) and context. As I...

Lutherans don't believe Jesus is God?

You've asserted that Lutherans don't believe Jesus is God. Lutheranism consists of more than the ELCA (who don't deny Christ) or Luther Seminary, so sweeping judgments have to be assumed as false.

Can babies be conscious of their baptism?

Lutherans don't believe Jesus is God?

    Blatantly false. Prove your point.

    Funeral song?

For a long time I'd thought "Long As I Can See The Light" by CCR would be fitting. Put a candle in the window 'Cause I feel I've gotta move Though I'm goin', goin' I'll be comin' home soon Long as I can see the light

Can babies be conscious of their baptism?

Be careful, they may extend grace to you. Lutherans enjoy that ;)

Can babies be conscious of their baptism?

You didn't read my post correctly. What you've just said is what I suspected you believed. So why were you baptized if it didn't serve a purpose except to "share with the community" (i.e. to confirm that "yup, this one's okay... next") If works are so insignificant, why be obedient in baptism?

Can babies be conscious of their baptism?

You know this, do you? That's neat.

Can babies be conscious of their baptism?

Nor did God need you to dunk yourself (however you were dunked) to extend grace to you. If being "adopted and redeemed is solely by God's providential ordinance and nothing else", then why baptize at all? Obedience? A show for the church of your "seriousness"? What? How long can it realistically...

Can babies be conscious of their baptism?

Do you intend to answer this part? If not I'll leave it alone and assume you have no answer.

Credobaptists - What about those with disabilities and baptism?

As devil's advocate, I'd say that God recognizes their inability to make a 'choice'. In that state, he freely accepts them as they are and extends his grace to them. But then it reminds me of the case of Terry Schiavo where there were Pastors protesting about not being able to bring her...

Can babies be conscious of their baptism?

You stated: So - the statement equates what God will do with what he becomes obligated to do. Why? My answer to this (separate) question was that he is not obligated, but does so out of his free choice and grace

Can babies be conscious of their baptism?

If grace is offered in one sense (saving grace), and not in another (through the act of baptism), then we are dealing with a limited and fickle God, and the baptismal act really has no meaning at all.

Can babies be conscious of their baptism?

Can babies be conscious of their baptism?

That didn't answer my question in context either. (I am, too. Praise God for His grace!)
