    It's really foggy and humid outside. I need to get out into the garden to pick more vegetables! The cucumbers are growing like crazy and so far I've picked 44 of them from the garden this summer!

    The text is about living for God...not living to earn salvation. Read the entire thing of 1 Peter 4, not pluck a verse to try to make it fit.

    You think it's works because you think it's something you can do. But it's not something YOU do. The text is "be baptized" meaning something is happening to you. You admit that it's by God's grace for salvation, yet you ignore God's grace in baptism.

    I don't believe that the bible promises us prosperity like the prosperity gospel believers state. If you look at people from the bible, how many prospered?

    None of us pray enough. Pray without ceasing is what the bible says but none of us can do that.

    In our baptisms we are covered in Jesus' righteousness...clothed in Him. None of us can live the perfect obedient life the law requires and so we do not have a holiness of our own, but that of Jesus.

    Prayer is extremely important. God tells us to pray without ceasing. But the yoke is light for Christians because we don't have to work our way into heaven...Jesus assured that spot for us and we receive it by grace through faith.

    As a Lutheran I believe that Christians are both saints and sinners at the same time. Saints because we have faith in Jesus and sinners because we keep sinning.

    It's possible Satan still believes he has a chance to win in the end? That would be total unbelief in God.
