    Cancel culture is getting on my nerves! Freedom of speech seems to only apply if you believe in the same ideology as a certain group of people. If you disagree then you are called a bunch of names and get ganged up against for believing differently. It's not very loving.

    If a fellow Lutheran is straying I point to the cross where Jesus died for the forgiveness of our sins. The Gospel is what feeds us. Telling someone to DO something to get back into faith is not the Gospel but Law. The proper distinction between Law and Gospel is critical.

    From what you have said you have given the term honor a different definition. @Josiah even brought up the fact that God tells us to Honor our fathers and mothers Exodus 20:12 “Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you.

    From what I read above in the OP's posts, salvation which is having eternal life with God is not really dependent on Jesus' death and resurrection but instead looks to what man does. Am I correct in what I have read in your posts?
