    My original idea was to have each winning team member PM me with a choice of charity. From there I would hope to have duplicate choices to form a poll for those winning team members to vote on. I'm not sure if I would get duplicates or if I'd have to choose 2 or 3 myself from those selections...

    Do you open the door when strangers knock? When I lived someplace else I was the only one in the neighborhood to answer my door when the Baptists came around. And that was to invite them to MY church :D That scared them off.

    Lutherans do not believe that all are saved. But Lutherans believe that the atonement is for all. It's just that those who reject the Savior and His forgiveness damn themselves.

    Hebrews 11 explains that it is a "living faith". That means a faith that does things. Not that our doing something will earn us salvation. That's the role that belongs to the Savior.

    There is a verse in Psalms and John that says You are like gods. That doesn't mean that we will be "gods". We will be like Christ but that doesn't make us gods. It also doesn't mean we'll look like Him ;)

    The concept of being forgiven is difficult for people to really wrap their heads around. Faith is what God gives us to believe not only in Him but also the forgiveness won at the cross. If our faith were truly perfected we would not doubt. But like Thomas we do doubt that forgiveness at times...

    In my church we are encouraged to reach out to our neighbors and invite them to come worship with us. That's not necessarily the same concept as door to door evangelism but it's most likely a better outreach.
