    Now why would tradition for over a thousand year think that households included children for baptism until the 1500s? The answer would lie in how the Israelites/Jews thought of children being a blessing from God. With very few exceptions they had large households and those households included...

    Menno, where do you find in the bible that Jesus authorized any one other than human beings to be baptized? And I don't mean "to wash" as in tables. I mean Christian baptism.

    Could be true I say because whole households were baptized and they didn't have birth control. It would be very odd for a household to NOT have infants or toddlers running around.

    Jesus told the disciples to go and baptize ALL nations. It's not just about having babies included in households but by Jesus' authority, babies are to be baptized because they too are a part of all nations. Acts 2:39 says the promise is for you and your children. That's not a feeling.

    Baptism gives us the gift of the Holy Spirit and in baptism we are given faith. That's why you shouldn't doubt that God can do His job in baptizing a baby...it's His work, not something you can do to yourself.

    No one can justify a human except for God. Babies need a Savior as much as an adult does and one was provided. You assume that God cannot reach an infant and nor can can God give an infant faith to believe in Him?
