1 Timothy 1:15King James Version (KJV)
15 This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.
This is a tangent from the Once Saved Always Saved thread to discuss Christians still being sinners while being...
What is your definition of sinner then?
We still have the Old Adam within us that sins. That makes us sinners. We have the blood of Christ covering us. That makes us saints. Both are true.
I'm not sure what YOUR definition of sinner is.
1 John 1:8English Standard Version (ESV)
8 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
If you sin you are still a sinner but as a Christian you are covered by Christ's righteousness. Law and Gospel both remain.
I'll be going to a party where I have to meet new people. I'm not too fond of those types of situations and avoid them when I can, but this one means a lot so I'm psyching myself up to go.
Do you like to meet new people?
We are saved by grace through faith. But what does faith grasp onto? This, I believe is what your question entails. WHAT do we believe God has done and what is it faith grasps onto.
Christians will agree that faith in the Savior is key. Who is this Savior and what has He done? He died on the...
Again, you're trying to place blame on God when the blame goes on man.
So you reject the scripture that clearly states man can fall away? There is more, but I only chose to list a few since you belittled me last time when I gave you more in a different thread (you really shouldn't belittle...
Oh, my! If party #1 had it at a home, it's not really something they should be complaining about. We're blessed to be a blessing.
The only issues that could have been (without really knowing) is that Party #1 called it a church party? If the recipient of the party had a sinful background then...
Why didn't the elders go to Party #1 directly as scripture tells them to do?
I'm not Baptist, but it could possibly be that party #1 didn't even confer with anyone before planning the shower, hence, disrupting other plans or schedules for that day at the church? Could another event or meeting...
Ah, but you are ignoring what scripture clearly tells us, that we can fall away. You are too quick to blame God!! You blame God instead of the one at fault...and that is man. With salvation, God is praised and it's 100% His doing, with damnation, it's not God's fault, it's 100% man's fault...
No, but man can turn away. Scripture warns us about falling from faith. You see, you can't just dismiss parts of scripture because it doesn't fit into the box you want it to fit into. God's Word says that God will never forsake us so this is most certainly true. God's Word also warns that man...
