I know that some hymns are dropped from hymn books because of certain ideas that the church might want to avoid.
I'm Googling now and found a couple of sites that discuss changing words in hymns...warning, I haven't read them all the way through yet but here are the links...
I'm asking if you adhere to the Nicene Creed because it is the site owner's wish that only those who follow that creed can post in this particular section of Christianity Haven.
If you say something in your video that is different on the forum, then maybe you should just write it in the forum.
So far on this site you refuse to believe that all your sins are forgiven by Jesus' blood and death on the cross and that YOU have to work your way to have eternal life. Is that...
Luther wrote that “pride is the mother of all heresies, indeed as both sacred and profane history testifies, it is the source of all sin and ruin.” [Luther, Lectures on Galatians, LW 27:97; Augustine, Reply to Faustus 22. 22]
"Moses once told the Israelites that God would raise up a prophet...
Staff would like to remind members that this section called Christian Theology has a specific rule that only those who adhere to the Nicene Creed should be posting here. If you do not believe in the Trinity or follow the Nicene Creed you should be posting in the World Religion and Speculative...
On another forum someone had mentioned that the Baptists changed something in the hymn The Church's One Foundation from "by water and the Word" to "by Spirit and the Word". The song's original words are "by water and the word" and it's taken from the verse of Ephesians 5:26.

STAFF NOTICE
The Christian Theology section of Christianity Haven is for those who adhere to the Nicene Creed as per the site rules set by the owner Romanos.
All threads that go against Trinitarian beliefs will be moved to World Religion & Speculative Theology.
If the transcript of the call was revealed, then how could this whistleblower have anything to say that's different? Unless it's a story along the same lines that Schiff gave?
You teach against Jesus' blood for having eternal life and teach instead me theology. You are law driven instead of Christ driven and the bible is all about Christ bringing us to eternity with God...that's the good news, not the burden that the Law you spout brings to us. The Law is holy and...
God bless your family as they mourn.
There is a wonderful book called Mourning into Dancing by Walter Wangerin Jr that a former pastor told me about years ago and loaned his copy to me. It is about death that happens around us daily and also about the resurrections that happen daily as well...
I could have sworn I attempted to explain to you how Lutherans don't talk about "getting saved" so I suppose you aren't really listening?
It seems you think you can redeem yourself before the Lord. You will fail. The Goal is about eternal life and you will never be able to win that all because...
The Bible has Law and Gospel. Mingling the two corrupts God's grace and mercy, reducing it to man's work righteousness that isn't what the bible states at all. Turn back to Jesus and the cross for your forgiveness, not to your own efforts to try to win over God.
This is exactly it. It's about God's perfect will...our will is corrupt with sin so we aren't going to choose what's best when we pray. We will pray with a greedy nature in mind instead of a humble one. If we pray asking that God's will be done then we are in line with what He wants to happen...
