    Apocrypha?

People have asked me what it is that caused our bible translations to be missing those extra 100 years on 6 generations, causing the timeline to get distorted out of proportion. But what people don't realize is that the thing that caused the timeline to get distorted is also the thing that...

    Usury?

The Bible says that those who put out their money at Usury are going to Hell. That's not everyone who works at a bank. Obviously the basic tellers are not, neither are the janitors. But those who are giving and approving loans, yes they are guilty. The Bible says they are.

    Usury?

Read the scriptures. It condemns Usury. Even if the borrower agrees to it. The Bible still says that the lender should not charge interest. The only exception is if the borrower is a foreigner. Deuteronomy allows charging a foreigner.

    Usury?

If someone steals my bike out of my garage, then they are the ones who are guilty of stealing, not me. Even if I leave it unlocked, even if I let them steal it, even if I find out who they are and decline to call the cops and press charges, THEY are the ones guilty of stealing, not me.

    Usury?

All three of these books condemn the charging of interest. “If you lend money to My people, to the poor among you, you are not to act as a creditor to him; you shall not charge him interest." -Exodus 22:25 (NASB) “You shall not charge interest to your countrymen: interest on money, food, or...

    Usury?

Biblically, any interest is Usury, even as low as 1%. Is Jesus saying it's ok?

    Usury?

Usury is condemned in Exodus, Leviticus, Deuteronomy, Psalms, Proverbs, Nehemiah, Ezekiel, and Jeremiah. But people think Jesus' parable in Luke 19 is saying that Usury is OK. Thoughts?

    Usury?

The Apocrypha: Does it belong in the Bible?

Jesus celebrated the holiday of Hanukah.

Did Jesus approve of Usury in Luke 19?

"Wherefore then gavest not thou my money into the bank, that at my coming I might have required mine own with usury?" -Luke 19:23

The Apocrypha: Does it belong in the Bible?

I would be ok with that. Just so that it gets in to people's hands and they read it.

The Apocrypha: Does it belong in the Bible?

Thanks. I also prefer a complete Bible.

The Apocrypha: Does it belong in the Bible?

Well, the Apocryphal books in the King James for sure. But the Greek Septuagint also consisted of 3 and 4 Maccabees.

The Apocrypha: Does it belong in the Bible?

I think the Apocrypha belongs in the Bible. Other people say that it's doesn't. What do you say?
  19. N

1 Maccabees was originally written in Hebrew

That's why the early church accepted it as scripture. Even Martin Luther called it scripture.
