    Thinking about Noah's ark

The holy scriptures are "another book" because they are not God or angelic or anything other than human produced words. The difference between the holy scriptures and a book such as "gone with the wind" is that the holy scriptures purport to be produced by divine inspiration and to contain God's...

    Thinking about Noah's ark

2 dogs is fine, but likely to lead to a whole lot of inbreeding. 8,000,000 species has only 1 dog species. Dogs are a single species but African wild dogs, wolves, coyotes and so forth are different species, they are not domestic dogs. Same with cats, 1 species of domestic cat but it is not the...

    Jesus Christ, died for all

I see that you chaps like to make my threads very busy with all sorts of topics that are not quite the topic raised in the original post. But that's okay because it is how you usually approach a thread. It starts with a specific topic such as "Jesus Christ died for all" and you turn it into a...

    All About Faith

Protestants do things that God says not to do so they don't obey God. Really isn't it true that everyone does things that God says not to do and hence does not obey God?

    Notre Dame Cathedral Burns Down

Well then, you Orthodox chaps need to fix your Calendar! :P The holiday of Pesach, or Passover, falls on the Hebrew calendar dates of Nissan 15-22. Pesach 2019 (Passover) falls out at sundown on Friday, April 19, and ends at nightfall on Shabbat, April 27.

    Jesus Christ, died for all

Do you really believe what you wrote? How many personal attacks become the mainstay of arguments against a church or against a theology? I think a lot do. I've seen Calvinism questioned because John Calvin had a hand in executing Servetus. And Catholicism attacked because some pope or bishop or...

    The Gospel according to NonStampCollector

What I mean is that saint Peter's question was not "where else shall we go Lord" because saint Peter was not asking what school of religious thought he should follow if he left following Jesus nor was he asking what place would be good to find a reliable and safe way to God. What saint Peter...

    Thinking about Noah's ark

Read a little archaeology and find out. I can't see why those things matter in a thread about Noah's ark.

    Thinking about Noah's ark

Perhaps "against what you believe" but not against what I believe. I like to give "the other side" of an argument a fair hearing. So I happily look at, listen to, and read what atheists and other sceptics have to say in their critiques of holy scripture. I acknowledge that numerous criticisms...

    Thinking about Noah's ark

How did Noah and his family manage to fit more than 8,000,000 pairs of land critters into the ark? And how did all the food fit too and how did they dispose of all the waste? It must have been very hard work, they'd be exhausted by the end of the cruise.

    Notre Dame Cathedral Burns Down

Saint Paul's outside the walls in Rome was burned in the 19th century and in response people from all over the world contributed money, time, materials, and labour to restore it. It looks like the picture below now, it was originally built in the 4th century AD, about 1.700 years ago.

Mostly I get along well with anybody willing to deal truthfully with me. I do not really care much what you think needs to be corrected in Catholic doings as long as you are willing to check the facts and debate the issue rather than rely on rumours and other unreliable sources for your "proofs...

I'd reply with something interesting if what you wrote was even near the truth but because it is so distorted and so inaccurate i'll just say that it is rubbish.

    Notre Dame Cathedral Burns Down

Almost a blink of the eye compared to Sancta Maria ad Martyres - usually called Santa Maria Rotonda - which is 1,893 years old now and not yet burned. Nevertheless is it sad for the beginning of Holy Week to be marked by damage to the Cathedral - imagine how sad it will be for the parishioners...
