My concerns do not warrant a PM. Open discussion is probably better. When first I arrived here there were a few active Catholic Christians now there appears to be less or none but me. I don't resent people preferring their own denomination or meeting and I do not mind discussions about doctrine...

I admit to being a little discouraged by the amount of hostility towards the Catholic Church expressed in posts in this forum. I don't know if staying here is worth it.

Folk with a good denomination ought to tell others about it.

If I were a member of a denomination - such as the Presbyterian church - I would rather tell people about the teachings of my denomination and the gospel than spend my time attacking the Catholic Church and the Orthodox Church and whatever denominations and independent groups I didn't like. Gifts from God, tongues, and recent claims made by 'prophets' and 'miracle workers'

Perhaps he was feeling safe in the knowledge that his flock were more interested in prophecies and miracles and exercising their gifts. Maybe he felt assured that no matter what you said and what passages were presented in the end their experiences would trump your explanations.

I am awake, it is 06:32 on 25th December 2015. I have a very nice evening with friends last night and a lovely Christmas dinner. Now I am thinking it is almost time to get ready for mass at 07:30. I was too sleepy & lazy to go to midnight mass last night.
