    You think it's works because you think it's something you can do. But it's not something YOU do. The text is "be baptized" meaning something is happening to you. You admit that it's by God's grace for salvation, yet you ignore God's grace in baptism.

    In our baptisms we are covered in Jesus' righteousness...clothed in Him. None of us can live the perfect obedient life the law requires and so we do not have a holiness of our own, but that of Jesus.

    Prayer is extremely important. God tells us to pray without ceasing. But the yoke is light for Christians because we don't have to work our way into heaven...Jesus assured that spot for us and we receive it by grace through faith.

    As a Lutheran I believe that Christians are both saints and sinners at the same time. Saints because we have faith in Jesus and sinners because we keep sinning.

    Context is key. Pulling one verse and ignoring others in all of scripture will lead you down a path or works righteousness. Jesus Saves. You can't do that. Your works won't get you to heaven.

    That's hilarious because I was thinking the same thing today for me! LOL Ever since my niece got told that one of her roommates tested positive...yet their paperwork says NEGATIVE then I don't trust anyone anymore.

    hahah that would be fun. I actually have a folder on my laptop where I keep them all and there are days when I go hunting for new ones or my friend George helps to find some and then I save them. I like to change them often because it reflects my mood or emotion :)

    But what justifies us is Jesus. That's why what we do does not give us Jesus. Faith grasps onto Jesus which is why we're justified by faith and not by works, lest anyone boast.
