    Common Figure of Speech?

What has that got to do with this topic, unless you're saying that it is an example where a daytime or a night time was said to be involved with an event when no part of a daytime or no part of a night time could have occurred. Is that what you're saying?

    Common Figure of Speech?

Lees, In the immortal words of Struther Martin: "What we have here is a failure to communicate", so let's try this a different way: Do you believe the crucifixion took place on the 6th day of the week - yes or no? If no, then this topic does not apply to you. If yes, do you also believe that...

    Common Figure of Speech?

I never said that. And I ask you again, account for "what" with regard to the 3 days and 3 nights that Jonah was in the belly of the fish? And anyways, what has that got to do with this topic? Again, to what argument are you referring?

    Common Figure of Speech?

And I ask again, to what argument are you referring? You still haven't said. I haven't said that you did. Disagree about what? I don't understand what you're referring to?

    Common Figure of Speech?

But you haven't said what you think the "argument" is. Agree with me about what?

    Is Sabbath, Saturday or Sunday.

The calendar on my wall refers to the 1st day of the week as "Sunday".

    Common Figure of Speech?

It may be related but it is not relative to it. You think it is. Why? Again, what do you think my "argument" is? Account for what with regard to Jonah's time in the fish? Then this topic does not apply to you.

    Common Figure of Speech?

If you believe that the crucifixion took place on the 6th day of the week with the resurrection taking place on the 1st day of the week, and think that the "heart of the earth" is referring to the tomb, and account for the lack of a 3rd night by saying that the Messiah was employing common...

    Common Figure of Speech?

So do you account for the lack of a third night by saying that the Messiah was using a common figure of speech or colloquialism?

    Common Figure of Speech?

So you're saying that if someone makes an assertion about something that there is no legitimate reason for them to support that assertion - in the case of this topic that it was common to forecast or say that a daytime or a night time would be involved with an event when no part of a daytime or...

    Is Sabbath, Saturday or Sunday.

So which calendar do you go by?
  13. R

    Common Figure of Speech?

Sorry, I thought I had responded. re: "Why are examples needed?" Because if someone says that it was common to forecast or say that a daytime or a night time would be involved with an event when no part of a daytime or no part of a night time could occur they would have to know of examples to...

    Is Sabbath, Saturday or Sunday.

No. The calendars in much of Europe and other parts of the world label the seventh day of the week Sunday.

    Is Sabbath, Saturday or Sunday.

So does your calendar show where you are right now to be the seventh day of the week with the label of Sunday?

For the purpose of this topic the other five were not intended for discussion. They are simply outlining the requirements for those to whom this topic is intended. If you wish to discuss them you can start a new topic.

    Common Figure of Speech?

You left out #6 which is the gist of the OP - examples to show that it was common to forecast or say that a daytime or a night time would be involved with an event when no part of a daytime or no part of a night time could occur.

    Is Sabbath, Saturday or Sunday.

Does scripture discuss or allude to the fact that the Sabbath is to be kept according to Sinai or Jerusalem time or should it be kept according to one's local time? "ay, there’s the rub" So far I haven't been successful in determining when it is to be observed, other than it is to be kept on...

    Common Figure of Speech?

Are you a believer in a 6th day of the week crucifixion? It's just something about which I'm curious - an idle for my mind. To others it might matter. I have no belief one way or the other with regard to the reality of the story.
