Defense of the Seven Sacraments
by King Henry VIII
CHAP. I
Of Indulgences, and the Pope's Authority
Indulgenti sunt adulatorum Romanorum nequiti
As every living Creature is known chiefly by its Face so by this first Proposition it evidently appears, how corrupt and rotten his Heart was, whose...
Spartacus Educational is a kind of Wikipedia like web site that offers essays and articles on various subjects and among the subjects is English history. I looked up Lollard and found this information.
In the 14th century a new heresy appeared, inspired by the English priest and theologian John...
Do you write with a pen anymore? I used to. I remember recording a kind of work diary when working on an accounting system for Hamersley Mining in Perth. The accounting system was written in ADABAS/NATURAL and it was important to keep track of which modules and in which portions of them I'd...
Isn't it strange how cartoons and high budget Hollywood films can be about such inane ideas as mutagens instantly producing cross-breeds between humans and animals?

I knew an Orthodox Priest in Christian Forums. He died a few years ago. He was good company. I remember him very fondly. His name was/is Father George Saint John. May God rest his soul. He was my friend.
I was looking at some pictures of Belgium, Holland, northern France, and Denmark in winter and late autumn and it looks very bleak. Cloudy gray skies, rain, sleet, leafless trees, snow, cold winds ...
Makes me glad of Australian winter where it is sunny most days :)
Sunrise, Perth in winter.
I watched a video called Reluctant Saint about saint Francis of Assisi. Nearly all of the things seen as miraculous by the faithful are reinterpreted as disease, coincidence, and symbolic but not actual events. It appears to be a sad reality that in our world of fact gathering pedantry no...
Here it is, a clip from a film of the 1970s called Brother Sun Sister Moon in which wealth and power humbles itself (albeit briefly) and so gives rise to the greatest missionary movement of the later middle ages.
