    Goals - motivation

Yikes! A deadline! But seriously, I am motivated more by things that interest me and can keep my attention. For example, if there is a subject I'm interested in, I am apt to study until I have a good grasp on the subject. I will also practice a new skill until I get a good grasp on it, then...

Best kitchen item you can't do without!

Yeah, for a while, finding Wayne knives at thrift stores was like striking gold. I think we have about ten now. So she has her Wayne knives, I have my Tassimo. Oh, yeah - and the George Foreman grill.

How do you intepret these verses?

Hebrews 10:26-31 expounds on this a bit more regarding apostates from the faith. There are a couple of ways I've seen this argued. First (which is the way I lean) is that the Christian - saved by grace through faith - can, by willful, unrepentant sin, fall away from the faith and be lost. I hold...

    Beggars on the street

Depends. Where we live, there are some homeless who are just that. They've been around, and they usually don't ask for money. They're glad for a meal or cup of coffee, rather than money. For others, though, I will give some change. Again-they're the regulars. I've had my experiences with those I...

    Big Ben?

"Look, kids! Big Ben! Parliament!" :D

    No kill animal shelters?

I favor no-kill shelters, but the reality is that they are just too crowded, as has been stated. I'd rather adopt from a shelter than from the (In)humane Society. The kill rate is astronomical at these chop shops, and it feels like you're being interviewed for CEO of Google before you even see...

Atticus a racist from To Kill a Mockingbird???

Cliff's notes were my best friend, but they never worked either. Actually, I enjoyed reading, but summary was my worst enemy.

    Smiley Answer thread!

:stickguy: A friend comes to your house and yells "Jesus is coming, Jesus is coming!" What do you do?

Atticus a racist from To Kill a Mockingbird???

Now I guess I'll have to add these to my reading list. I'm surprised that TKAM was never required reading. Either that or it was and I just forgot about it. Thinking about my grades in high school, that's a distinct possibility :)

Atticus a racist from To Kill a Mockingbird???

From what I understand, the "new" book is a prequel that was never released. I've never read TKAM, but from what I understand, the new book paints a rather unflattering picture of a character that people associate with fairness and justice. Imo, it's all a part of character development, and some...
